Best version of GTA San Andreas?

I see there are different versions - Steam, Microsoft sore and Rockstar store. Which is the latest and the greatest?
 
Gotta say the retail/CD version. Steam is the worst. Why? Watch this, it explains a whole lot:

Ok so the steam version is bad - what about MS store version and Rockstar store version?
 
Well it was a PS2 game. The PS2 had 4mb of video memory, 32mb of system memory and no HDD. Yet once loaded, it managed to have almost zero loading zones for a fairly large free roam open world.

+rep :up: Thats right, for its age its still have an impressive sized map and have one of, if not, the best story in GTA series. I play it annually and play from start to finish, without mods. Just silent patch to fix some bugs :)

Which looked great by 2004/2005 standards (when the game was released).

I had it on PS2, which, again, looked great in 2004/2005 but after getting used to higher resolutions by today's standards, yes, it did look like...you know.

But anyway, I got the Rockstar Game Launcher version for free and it was not good....until the downgrade and silent patch mods. Higher resolutions (up to 4K on PC) does look better but still dates quite a bit compared to GTA4/GTA5...can't wait till GTA6, it better be based off Vice City!
 
Yea I'm kinda hoping the next GTA is a period piece again. Although, I'd love to back to London personally :D
