bigadv any advantage?

Any advantage running bigadv with a i7-2600 and 8 gig ram?

any day now the pande group will change the bigadv core # requirement and deadlines to make bigadv folding on <16 core machines impossible. however, until they do so, a 4.4 ghz 2600k could see as much as a 30% improvement in ppd using bigadv. (assuming all 8 cores are used for smp)

Ill see how it goes next few days.
Prelim #s 13000 from each 560 ti and I dont know how much from the smp client time will tell.

Yes it's a doddle to add GPU on the V7 client.
In expert mode - Configure -> Expert
Extra client options -> Add
Name = gpu
Value = true

I am guessing this may already be done as the default install is to enable both CPU+GPU anyway.

Then go to slots and then add in what you need....

Sounds like you are already sorted though.

Thanks.
One gpu is pegged at 97c all the time.
Thats pretty hot.
Should I keep that one idle?
Is 97c to hot for a 560Ti gpu?

SMP client says 35000 a day I doubt it.

i would either increase the fan speed or drop the gpu usage on the one at 97c... i get nervous watching my cards go past 80c.

the 35k ppd from the smp client definitely sounds suspect, unless it's working on an 8xxx series project.

According to the built in PPD tracker I should be maxing at 62000 a day if I dont dont touch my rig.
What it works out to is still up in the air I should know in a week or so.

funny my main rig does from 35 to 95000 per day .The projects i get with the v7 software are all over the place.

thats very impressive for an overclock.

One of my AMD 5870 is the original design and that will get a fair bit warmer than the other which is the single big fan in the middle. That remains a lot cooler than the original design. I have started to back off that GPU although I am even debating dropping it entirely going to smp6 (or maybe 7) and ramping up the CPU... Will see how temps go. My room is incredibly warm due to the hot water pipes and tank being close so all year its like a sauna.
