bigadv any advantage?

Today I am getting some really weird wus from 10000 ppd to 22000 ppd.
Yesterday was nice the lowest performing wu was 32000 ppd highest was 40000 ppd. Wus are wonky in worth. All over the map.
Today I started up a 5870 in my sons comp and a 9800gtx in my wifes rig.

Be interesting to know your 5870 details when you have been running a short time and what you are getting.

Noticed there has been some strange SMP WU come my way today as well. Wonder if they've been playing with the distributions of WU.

Ill post back on Sunday with the 5870 info.
If the wus dont get back to normal I will have to drop bigadv.

work units on the 6 core at 4.2 have been all over the place . v7
the i7 920 at 4.2 stays right in the 20000 ppd range 6.xx
seems like when u first load the v7 the points are very high then the bottom drops and the points go south

with the 6 core any use of the gpu really drops the ppd .Thinking its mostly due to the bonus and you are right on the bubble for points so to speak.

o and bumping from 4.2 to 4.5 nets about 20000 more on most projects

not running bigadv on either machine

I am also slowly ramping up the core speed of my i7 at 100mhz every few days. Testing the water and stability first. This place is hot as it is and even water coolers dont make much difference.

I have gone back to my original plan of smp7 + 1 GPU. The total at current setup should land around the 20k mark because I have ramped the speed of the CPU up too. I will clock that up more gradually over coming days making sure I dont get it in a too hot state. At 3.7 and it's 1deg different to when it was at stock but still bloody hot! If with the cooler I have the ambient tempreture is as big a factor as the work the CPU is doing it might remain like that for a couple more 100mhz steps. I found that happen in the past on a couple of previous air cooled/water cooled setups. Hopefully should make 4GHz without too much problem then see how it goes.

5870 is 9000 ppd was a little surprised.
I had to stop folding, noise was unbearable for my wife.
Happy wife happy life sorry guys.

You must have the original design one too :)
That fan hits 40%+ you know about it. That's the GPU I've now disbaneded from folding except during the day and I'm not about :P

SMP7 + 1 5870 with central fan design. Quieter fan and better cooling so all is good :)

you should still be able to put out 30k ppd with just SMP, without significant noise levels.

lol i understand my girl hates when i have the h100 on high and 4.2 is as high as i can go with no noise . ;)

i think my limit is 3.8-3.9 based on temp. fan speed will not make any diff for me due to how hot the place is.

On the plus side I should break 1m today :D

Congrats.

No I punched it up 4.8 gig on 1.368 v.
I stopped folding on all the rigs upstairs by our bedroom.
