CPU WU's

Has anyone else been getting an unusually high amount of large WU's? I haven't been tracking the project numbers (i'm going to start) but in the last month I've seen tons of WU's taking a day or longer to process on multiple machines.

The one i just picked up 15 minutes ago is 10125 and est. time is 1 day. My points don't seem to be to far from the norm (aside from the massive amount of GW2 I'm playing) but I've never seen this many large WU's in this time frame.

Hey... I find that there are some days that the WU's are both large and low in points. There are times that they are large but good in points and times that they are small but jack my PPD up by 200-300%.

I guess the more machines you have folding the better because it would smooth out the inconsistency of the WU's but when you are folding with just a few it's pretty obvious some days.

If you want to track the WU's your machines are getting I think that the best software to do this is: hfm-net

It logs everything you would ever need to know about the WU's each machine is getting.

I've been getting them too.

I had one WU take a whole week.

This is on a i7 930 running 4 uni-processor clients folding part time.

Ya i got another large one, this is a 10135. Says it's gonna be 1.1 days, and it's 17% done so it's been running since at least 6am. Oh well i guess.

I've got a 10136 chugging along since 9/8 and will be done tomorrow morning. 3 freaking days on a dual core e8400 o/c to 3.6 ghz (24/7).

my primary folders have been getting 6097/8/9s for several months... they take a little less than 12 hours on a 4.6 ghz 2700k. i have had a 1012x take nearly 23 hours before, and my ppd dropped by almost 30% on that machine while it was processing. do not want.

I don't mind these WUs that much, from what I've read there is a huge backlog of uniprocessor WUs that need to be done. I guess it's due to the fact there is a lot of emphasis on the GPU and SMP clients.

Well i certainly do my fair share of uni WU's since i have a bunch of machines at work running that client. I wonder why they haven't modded the SMP client to run Uni WU's if they have such a large backlog. Or mod the WU's to run on an SMP client.

While i enjoy the competition of the points and all I'm more than happy to run whatever WU's are most useful to the science.
