Deathloop - If At First You Don’t Succeed... Die, Die Again

I wasn't immediately fond of it when it was announced, even though I love Arkane Studios for Prey and Dishonored. Looks like a fast-paced Dishonored fueled by happy drugs instead of melancholy, so I'm still interested. We'll see.

Oh...another rogue like game...yawn.

Is it? I didn't get that feeling... it seems to be a story driven FPS similar to the Dishonored games, but perhaps with more action.

I dig the aesthetics and will give it a chance, but not sure it's a day one purchase. Watching some of the powers, it seems Arkane just wants to make the same games over and over with slight variations. Hopefully this one is varied enough to not feel like Dishonored 1960's edition.

Wait, is this a story-driven game, I though it was an MP title?

Isn't this the game where one players tries to complete some objectives while the other one tries to stop them?

Steam says Singleplayer and PvP multiplayer, maybe it's both? It seems to be priced as a AAA game, so if it's just multiplayer objective play, I'm out.

A 2nd person can play as the Juliana, the Sniper assassin to stop the main character from completing his objectives. That's the PVP part.

I've never played Dishonored or any other Arkane Lyon game, so for me, this is a fairly fresh take. I really like the art style. I'll wait for release and some reviews to see if I make the purchase.

Deathloop, the newest supernatural stealth-action title from Arkane Studios, is twisting the elements of a roguelike to suit its time-travelling narrative. ... In Deathloop, players will live a day over and over as they uncover the mysteries of Black Reef, the esoteric island run by hedonistic partiers.

So they claim it's a rogue like but...different. Yeah I'll pass, I've had my fill of rogue like games. The only one I really liked was Everspace. Hades is ok, but it just didn't grab me.

Not my sort of game. I'll replay a game if it's good. I won't replay a game until it's good, and this looks like the latter. Also don't want to play a stealth game where another player is out there trying to kill you. Will definitely be waiting for a demo or a heavy discount before even thinking about this.

Of course it is. It's arkane, literally every game they have made has been quality. Not always the greatest, but definitely top quality.

Im not too much a fan of arkane.. wasnt too big into dishonored. I cant already see some of the powers of those games creeping into this one. But this one looks different enough to give it a go.
