DivX audio question...

I came across something encoded in DivX that would play the picture (image) perfectly, but apparently couldn't decompress the audio since I didn't have the codec installed. I know how to check for the codec you need if the picture is missing, but how about the sound? Thanks.

You probably have an older version of the DivX codec that doesn't support WMA. Just upgrade to a newer version (3.11 or 4.0) and the sound should work.

Thanks, but I still can't hear anything. I have a cheap-o ESS Allegro soundcard that has played everything I've found encoded in DivX so far...I think it's the first time that the picture works but I can't get the SOUND working, it's usually just the sound that works with some obscure video codec I need to hunt down in this situation.

damn, I was hoping it was the problem I had with my game theater... if you left mp3 acceleration on it the sound in divx movies would screw up... but you have something else... sorry I couldn't help.
