So, do you?

I do.

1995 Mercury Sable: Big Bertha
2000 Mazda Protege: Scooter

2009 Hyundai Sonata: Alexis

Each name has a story, most of these stories stupid.

Still trying to figure out what to name my new (to me) 2017 Corolla.

Anyone has a particularly great name, share and share alike.

i dont name my cars.

You should name your Corolla Nyquil :D

I have ideas...

Something from the Film 'Full Metal Jacket', a character or something

"There are many Corolla's like it, but this is mine...."

A more personal thing to remember my Dad

Invisi-car

It goes on

The rest of you should name your car?

I mean, don't YOU want to be able to say you own 'Alexis'? :p

(Name comes from a time my GF and her sister waited by a black Lexus for me in a parking lot, mistaking my Hyundai for the Lexus lol)

Yep, just for fun. My Ram is Beastie (because it's fugly like an old battle worn beast) and Ruby is the wife's car, just because she likes it.

I can't use the make/model name when talking with my wife because she doesn't know or care what they are and I can't remember people names:lol: We have to use descriptive terms:
  • Big green one -> 4 Runner
  • Little silver one -> Z4
  • Big silver one -> Accord

if it won't start up in the morning i sure have a lot of names for it, you can bet. Other than that, no.

I've used these names out loud.

Also, just so people are aware, I don't talk about my cars with the names that I give them, these names are just personal things I keep in my mind.

Nope.

My friends and I do refer to our cars by color though. I call mine yellow car or grey car, and they do the same. We only do this because we each have more than one of the exact same car and it avoids confusion.

I've always named my bikes. Since most of my bikes were 90s bikes, they had all kinds of bright colors on the fairing, leading to 'colorful' names as well.

Yamaha FZR600: Hello Kitty, because it had purple details in the fairing.
Yamaha YZF750: Sugar Cane, because the whole thing was bright pink and white.
Yamaha YZF750: Trees (pronounced Trace), because I bought this one for track days more than anything.
Yamaha FZR600R: Rainbow, because it had a mix of bright colors on the fairing.
Yamaha FZR600R: Suikerstok, which is candy too, but I don't know what it translates to. Again, lots of bright colors.
Suzuki GSXR 750: Bea, after Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, because "Gixxer" and "Beatrix" both have an x in the name.

The current bike's a bright blue Triumph Street Triple, which my wife decided to name Rainbow Dash, after the My Little Pony.

I barely named you on your birth. :bleh:

My life is a lie. KAC'd again

Yes lol. Wife names a lot of inanimate objects. Both cars have names.

I can't say "I like your wife" so I'll say I like the way she thinks. :p

This is the kind of answer I was looking for! Naming them gives them an extra character.

Rainbow Dash tho

I'm moving in on either Jack or Gomer.... (This my car damn it, even if there are many like it.... crack wise on it at your own peril :p)

If I want to give my car character, the name changes to "the piece of ****." That's what my Colorado became known as before I got rid of it.

Since I usually replace them with the newest model, it's the Jetta, the Tiguan or the GLI.
