A bunch of people i saw played the demo, and said it was pretty meh. Looks like its improved, but only to like average.


Im pretty disappointed. Love Legacy of kain, and people froth at the mouth over uncharted. Was really expecting something better from hennig.
 
Shame. The price for this game is also completely out to lunch imho. Although I supposed with the published being Square Enix, that shouldn't be to surprising. I'll wait for this to be on a pretty heavy discount before even considering it.
 
Hennig wasn't that involved with this, she and another writer just wrote some world building lore, the main writer is someone else.

Anyway, Square can fuck off with their PS5 pricing on PC.

holy crap I never thought i'd see it....but it has surpassed CoD pricing.....
 
I’m passing on this one. Reviews I’ve seen (Digital Foundry the latest) haven’t been favorable.

Same. Uninteresting characters. Bland story. Massive but empty open world. Samey-samey monsters. Basically another generic but pretty Square Enix game.

Square cant seem to make anything worthwhile outside of their FF franchise.
And even then their FF franchise has gotten worse and worse since their heyday. (13 sucks, 14 is online only, 15 seems unremarkable and has a boy band cast, jury is out on 16 until its released)
And then Square also has a knack for balancing promising decisions with absolutely baffling/stupid ones. (FF7 takes forever to remake and will be expensive...i might not even care about it anymore by the time all 3 parts are ready), PC only release of the pixel remaster series UNTIL this year..., they have some potential 2D-HD Remake goldmine options which they don't seem to be exploring at all...like FF6 and Chrono Trigger, The Kingdom Hearts series is ALL cloud based on switch......which makes no sense except for KH3)
 
The load times are pretty nice, I guess direct storage is doing its thing in the demo.

I'm not very fond of the combat, it reminds me too much of FF15.
 
So let me get this straight. It's something that's not what I call a good game, I'm seeing freakin' poor reviews, and, oh yeah!, 16GB is not enough!
 
it's bad all around ESPECIALLY for a Square Enix game. But hey, maybe there are some gamers out there who actually like it, who knows?
 
Demo is kinda meh. None of the story of the game is present. It plays more like a tech demo of the game, than a slice of the game. You can run around a fairly large area to openly explore. Fight all sorts of little boss's and clear areas around the map. You can play with the crafting system, upgrades and spells. But that's about it. Once you fight the "bonus boss" the demo ends (you don't have to fight him though, so that's when I started to explore). Really not sure why they released this as the "demo". It feels more like a sneak peak or first look sorta thing instead of a proper demo. Like something I would have played at a Square Enix booth for anevent like E3, CES or PAX. I had fun with it... but it's fairly shallow look at the game.

Demo was bland. The combat is messy (not hard) and the game world just seems really flat. I turned the chatter down to low and it wasn't too bad. Oh and it crashed for me after 25 minutes. Probably won't touch this one.
 
I also took a pass on this. Might grab it when it hits under $30. Heard the campaign is between 8-10 hours, just saying. Spending my money on Hogwarts Legacy.

Yea not surprised 1 bit... the damn price is crazy. The game play look boring AF, the worlds look empty. The game just looks like a tech demo. Skip!
