Forspoken

I played the demo on ps5 and now played a little on pc last night. Game seems much better visually and play wise on pc but still looking like it’s not going to be worth the time.
was really hoping it would be like Dragons Dogma. I was really excited for that one till I played the demo and thought it was crap. Thankfully that one had enough saying it was good that I gave the full game a try and it wound up being one of my favorite games in a long time.

i don’t think this one is going to turn out that way unfortunately.

Played and finished the demo. Was boring af. Also gameplay was just terribad. Had so much potential but completely ruined by stupid systems and menus and aesthetics of the world. Also that chatter was just downright stupid. So bad. I couldn’t stand it. I thought High on Life was worse but this one takes the cake.

I don't mean any disrespect to anyone but I think this game is aimed at a different demographic than the one on rage3d. They make games for teenagers and kids and this one seems aimed at young teens. Role playing as a teen girl that is dealing with bullying issues and escapes to a fairy magical fantasy land where pink glitter roles off her feet doesn't seem like the sort of game that will attract men aged 30 to 60 if you know what I mean. The gameplay seems dumbed down to you and me but it's fine for the kids it's aimed at. I'm not interested in playing teenage mutant ninja turtles anymore either but it had it's time and place in my kiddy days you know?

Sorry but I never took age ratings seriously even when I was in 3rd grade playing mortal combat. I just look at the content and know it's not for me. I understand your argument but something about this game just doesn't seem like it would interest adult men.

The world of Reddit feels younger than the R3D demographic, but the game gets spat out there too. Mixed reviews on Steam, mixed professional reviews, this is simply a big budget dud. And to be fair, it never looked like it definitely wouldn't be. :-/

Fair enough. I just think alot of the games I enjoyed as a child would get ripped apart in a critical gameplay review but they served their purpose when I was a kid you know what I mean?. Final Fantasy 7 for example, it was a groundbreaking title with good gameplay, story, music, and characters but it was aimed at teen boys and the only reason I can play remake is because of the nostalgia. I think FF7 remake is poorly paced, I can't really relate with the character of Cloud anymore, the lost mind, deus ex ending has become a cliche and the gameplay really doensn't do much for me despite the heavy modernizations to it.

I think the age rating is causing alot of adults to look at forespoken and critique it like an adult game which is fair but like Mortal Combat, it's actually aimed at kids and I don't think mortal combat has very exciting gameplay as an adult because it's the same thing over and over for the last 20 years. Most movies, games and music really are not made for people over the age of 30 if you think about it. We've all grown up but the entertainment industry has not changed and therefore doesn't cater to us anymore. What do you think? Honestly, I have a hard time getting into anything these days and I feel like that is probably why but perhaps I'm just narrow minded?

that may have been the case, except the character hates the new world, doesnt want to do anything, is an arsehole most of the time, and is unlikable completely. Has nothing to do with appealing to kids. The game also does stupid things and forces the player to make to do stupid things. Like the bag of money at the start of the game. Its literally at her feet, but she has to go out into the apartment to find the cat THEN come back for the bag... which obviously doesnt happen.

Being a fan of isekai western movies and anime, im the actual audience for this game. Its very, very average.

Need to put that person on suicide watch if he really completed it to 100%.

demographic
ehhh.. I won't hesistate to give the first LiS (Life is Strange) game a 10/10. And it's about teenage girls/high school drama/the suburbs etc. I mean you would be right with a few titles but imo most gamers, esp PC gamers, will give any kind of game a chance and keep playing it if they are having some kind of fun or engagement regardless of the characters/setting.

Yeah that's fine, whatever floats your boat. I just thought it might be a case where people were expecting a level of depth and maturity to the gameplay systems and story because of the age rating and then got disappointed because is was a game focused on a different age group. If that's not the case and it's an adult game that is boring, then that's cool with me. As I said, I have no interest in it personally. It reminds me of tween Disney movie stories, characters, and settings which stopped interesting me about 25 years ago.

I'd say even with the rating, the demographics is people who were teens around 2010 or earlier. Its less isekai, and more western movies, like forbidden kingdom, or similar movies from the 90's. Its just that it doesnt matter. To a lot of gamers, a good game is a good game.
