Galaxy Note 9

It only has 512Gb local storage. You still need a 512Gb microSD for the rest. Picking nits I know, but I hate marketing sleight of hand crap.

Like an all day battery being a feature :hmm:

That said, I'd love to have another phablet with stylus, but I'll pass on this. I bet it's one pretty device though...

it's better than the 64gb of my note 8 with 18gb free and a 200gb card :hmm:

You need to stash them dirty movies somewhere else sailor  I don't use much phone storage any more, so 64-128 does me just fine, but I've actually been pricing the note 8s/Galaxy S8s lately. I refuse to pay the premium for new and I can almost guarantee I won't get more than $100 for my PH1.

I might just hang onto this until it dies, but I miss having the note...

I'll download on occasion or just use local wifi only - usage is brutal for movies.

I just priced some note 8s and just won't right now. That's 3-4 new double hung windows (with j channel and my brother in laws GC discount  ) So the new phone is on the back burner until the house is squared away and/or sold.

$800-$1000 just brings out the worst in me lol.

LoL, they ding you out west for the low E the way they ding us here for northern rated - vampires lol.

There are mid range phones with bigger batteries (5500mh), bigger screens (6.9") and a quarter the price ~250$ us.

I just bought the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with the SD 636 4gb/64 gb rom model (theres a 6 Gb and 128 ROM version for ~100$ more) straight from Guangdong.

1000$ for a cellphone is nuts now. Just upgrade your phone more often and you get 2-3x perf improvement more often for a fraction of the cost.

You pay 1000$ and you then are stuck trying to keep it 4-5 years.

I'll never pay that much for a phone. My iPhone 6s+ is the most I've paid, no phone is worth that much money. I can get a powerful laptop for $1000.

I still have a tough time getting that out of my head. Used to be if you spent a lot you could count on quality that would last.

This Xiaomi though...I'd like to buy one just have it handy. What type of sim does it use? Single nano sim? Would be nice if I could just swap it out...

Doesn't it cost more to create the phones? They say the note 8 is $369 worth of components. That's doesn't include software development cost, R&D and manufacturing the phone.:bleh:

Has dual sim and while the global rom isnt out yet it can run on many lte bands and can be set for english besides mandarin. Basically all the canadian carriers can run it. Not sure for US but they must list it.

Thanks pax - I'm not sure I'd need dual sims, but I'll read up on the rest later. This really piques my interest, I miss having a bigger screen.

my 7+ was like 800 and my note 8 was 1000 :bleh:

apple started it with the X at 1150 and the next base iphone starts at 1100 they say

Verizon and AT&T are doing a BOGO and Sprint is 50% off (couldn't pay me to go Sprint) lol.

If I Bestbuys maximum trade value of $450 on an old phone, the 512Gb version would still run me close to $900 after sales tax.

Insanity. If I ever choose to go down that phablet road again it'll be an older used device.

I wish people would smarten up and stop enabling companies to charge these ridiculous prices.
