In our 5th year doing this it is amazing how many members are participating throughout. I hope it has helped you as it helped me keeping my backlogs in check while enjoying my games.

As many have seen, I have completed a lot of games last year and still managed to do my hobbies, take care of family, career and the occasional travel (not counting 2020).

Not every month someone will be finishing a lot, as there are months where a person just can't finish anything. Then you got that streak going in another month.

Also, if you plan to replay the game, it is fine but don't repeat it at a later month as first completion is what counts.

Another thing is the criteria of what is considered completed in unclear games such as team based multiplayer games; I would say set a target for that. E.g. I considered Overwatch completed when I reached level 100. Or when I finished story mode (which was a long movie sequence) in Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator. You decide what you consider is completed as long as it is reasonable to a certain extend and correlate-able to a single player experience.

DLC completed at a separate time from the main game and has enough content (+1 hour) can be counted as a separate completion.

Console completions can be accepted as long as the main focus is still PC overall.

Completed Games:
701-The Callisto Protocol
702-Ghostrunner: Project_Hel DLC
5 -God of War: Ragnarok

Happy New Year!

My completions in 2022 have been the lowest due to playing an MMO; Lost Ark. Glad I stopped it despite by enjoyment because enjoying other games is more fun for me. Anyway, here are my December 2022 completions:

701-The Callisto Protocol: Not a Dead Space contender but if you really like atmospheric space survival horror and can tolerate shallow combat and limited enemies, then you will enjoy this. I know I did. I will replay when NG+ is out and looking forward to the DLC. Be warned again: My opinion of this game is highly biased. I just have a thing for corridor horror games in space!
702-Ghostrunner: Project_Hel DLC: My god this DLC was so great. If you liked the main game, this is a must have! It is about 3 hours long and have you actually playing a different character with different mechanics but still feels Ghostrunner.
5 -God of War: Ragnarok: Not GOTY. Not a massive improvement. Still a great game, great story. If you liked the first, you would love this. If you didn't like the first, then there is more of the same with sections were you actually play Atreus.

Happy New Year all.

Been a busy month for me with some more substantial games beaten;
Return to Monkey Island - Maybe not classic Monkey Island but still an enjoyable romp.
King's Bounty Warriors of the North - At 82 hours it did rather overstay it's welcome.
Penko Park - Short, cute photography game.
Wonderdoktor - Odd.
Hohokum - Cute but lightweight.
Spiritfarer - Sweet, though I wasn't as taken with it as some people seem to be.
Sairento - VR Cyber Ninja. Took a bit of getting used to but fun once I did.
Shadey Part of Me - Uninspired puzzle adveture.
Wattam - Really weird.
Fort Triumph - Hadn't even heard of this before Epic gave it away. Lightweight but fun tactical wargame.
Lego Builder's Journey - Free with Epic but more of a chore than fun.
Happy Game - Short, weird and a little disturbing.
The Escaper - Short but decent escape room game.
Little Orpheus - Pretty but not much gameplay.

That makes fourteen for me meaning I've beaten last years total.

Was making good progress in a few games but then I got the bright idea to start The Witcher 3 again.

1. Livelock. Destiny inspired indy twin stick shooter with a surprisingly solid OST. I enjoyed it.
VERY LATE EDIT: 2. Mutant Football League. Played an entire season with extra long quarters just to pad my stats so I could get those end of Mayhem Bowl Achievements.

I am going to put all my games up and some that I think shouldn't be up but I am done with them.

7 for me.

Bayonetta 3
High on life
COD MW2 MP (Prestige 2 times and also am about 86% through BP)
God of War Ragnarok
Gotham Knights

And the one that shouldn't be up but because I paid money and I am done with it.

Elden Ring. Spent 2+ hours but unfortunately, no refunds as I bought from a key site. Gets a special award of "Worst game purchase of 2022" from me.

Another one if MNB allows is Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. My 8 year old finished this game and due to vacations I saw most of it. He also completely destroyed the end boss in seconds and did it 4 times. It was hilarious watching him own the game like a pro.

Was a bad year for PC gaming tbh. Almost all amazing games were played on PS5 or Switch. Only crappy games on PC. Not even sure why I keep spending money on it.

Alright, last one for the year!

I've got three games finished in December 2022:
* Days Gone
* Prodeus
* Islanders (Nintendo Switch)

Days Gone and Prodeus both suffer from uneven campaigns, that don't seem to have the right balance of story beats and new gameplay elements. Would both have been awesome games, otherwise. I already finished Islanders on PC, but decided to have another go on the Switch. Definitely better suited to a mouse though.

This time last year I said I could probably spend all of 2022 playing older games (I also said I wasn't going to do that). With only four '22 titles on this year's list, out of over 20 finished games, I guess I wasn't far off. Assassin's Creed: Unity, TT's The Walking Dead, Beat Saber, Horizon Zero Dawn, Immortals Fenyx Rising and Days Gone are all older games, some even geriatric, and I've put those behind me now. For 2023, I think I'll sink my teeth in some more older games I never gave a try, like Mass Effect, Death Stranding and perhaps I'll pick up the Metro series again.

Plus, of course, lots more Valheim, MotoGP and stuff that comes along for low prices.

Thanks MNB4800 for another year!

0 for me to literally round out the year lol

Hoping 2023 will be a better year !_!

Two.

Doom Eternal - Finally finished it after close to a year and a half. Didn't really like it. You can see my more detailed thoughts in the game thread if you care.

Creed: Rise To Glory- Went back to it and beat the story line. A decent enough game if you're into VR and also very good exercise (be sure to wear a sweat band and have a fan blowing on you! It did capture the feel of being in a Rocky movie. Kind of felt weird looking down and seeing massive pecs :hmm: :lol:. Probably will not play any further as Thrill of the Fight is a much better boxing simulator, despite not having the budget for great graphics or theme music.

Got two monkeys off my back in December. Games that have been sitting unfinished for a long time:
  • Disco Elysium
  • The Witcher 3
Was hoping to get AC Valhalla done, but that one is still dragging on after 50 hours. Maybe by next December lol.

10

The Callisto Protocol, Prodeus, The Quarry, Choo-Choo Charles, Metal: Hellsinger, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Eternal Threads, Pentiment, Vampire Survivors, Need for Speed Unbound

Was a good month for me, plenty of free time and the motivation to churn through a few games on my 2022 backlog list. Some short ones in there but also some longer games (unbound and plague tale)

Beat 3 games in December. Anno1800 (campaign), Uncharted 3 (PS5), and Mario+Rabbids:Kingdom Battle (Switch). Was another good year for completing games!

Now just finishing up Uncharted 4 (PS5), and just started Links Awakening (Switch) and Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (PC).

Literally for me as well.

Another month of zero.

Just getting ready for my busy season, so hopefully come summer I'll be able to start crushing my backlog of games once again.

Happy 2023 everyone
