I call it a video graphics card. I guess it's stuck in my head that way from the old VGA (Video Graphics Array) connection slots on old cards back in the day.

i was gonna mention that, seems a generational thing imo. It was always initially a video card to me. From what i can recall at least
 
i use graphics card, feels a bit more universal in its descriptive purpose vs video card.

If you were to ask a newbie what either one is, which would they have a better understanding of its purpose?
 
graphics card mostly but sometimes I get a little bit saucy and go with video card
 
I'm pretty sure I usually say graphics card, but it's possible I may "slip up" sometimes and use video card. Graphics card sounds right to me, but it's not something I really pay much attention to when I'm speaking.
