Halloween 2022

So what's going on this time around? The last two years COVID put a damper on Halloween, but things are normal more normal now. UberBeavis "won" Halloween two years ago-- it wasn't even close.

My big spider has taken a beating this October due to some strong winds [duh, it's Kansas after all.] I haven't looked very hard but at least the local Walmarts don't have sh1t for outdoor decor this year.

I thought about maybe going as a midterm election ballot but I'm not nearly flat enough.

I live at the end of a 1/4 mile gravel driveway up in the hills. The only Trick-or-Treaters I will get are the furry or hoofed kind.

Now we know where bill took that photo :bleh:

I’d be placing land mines too :bleh:

I think maybe the new All Quiet on the Western Front will be this year's Halloween movie for me. That was some real horror.

Put candy out.

Three scumbag kids stole the entire bucket that had just been refilled.

Never putting candy out again. **** them kids.

I live in a young neighborhood. Lots of kids, ran out of candies at 7:20PM. I had candies for 425 kids... But even during the last 2 years, we were getting 300+ kids.

Just setting a bowl out unattended is never a good idea. There's always going to be some greedy little ****s that take it all.

I was brainstorming ways to deal with this other than just sitting outside and watching.

Thought maybe have a droppable cage/gate that blocks the exit once a kid tries to steal the entire bowl.
Then have a TV screen turn on and go all SAW on the kid lol (except for the gore and maiming and violence part...maybe just have a fake tazer or something to scare the punk into not taking the entire bowl and lift the cage if they comply)

But then this would require monitoring the candy at all times....

I would put glitter and a fake rat on the bottom of the bowl and 3m tape the whole bowl.:bleh:

Some teenagers went around the neighborhood stealing people's candy bowls (yes, the bowls). All the moms in the neighborhood were on the facebook group talking about it. And yes, every house in the neighborhood has video door bells, so yeah they quickly identified the kids.

So yesterday, 2 of the moms marched their teenagers around the neighborhood apologizing to everyone who got their bowls stolen, including us. It's very embarrassing, and I'm sure those kids have learned their lesson.

However, the 2 teens who came by, are not actually the one who stole the bowls, but were just in the group with him. So we haven't gotten our bowl back yet. The moms said they've identified the boy who actually stole the bowls, and they've reached out to his parents. So maybe we'll get our bowl back afterall.

These kids are lucky that their moms are ok with abject humiliation. Back in my day, your dad would have gotten out the belt and taken it out of your hide.
