I really want to prevent windows from installing updates without my consent, even if I may be 3 month to do it. How do I do that?
I have looked at the policy editor options, the normal gui options, but found no way to stop installation of updates.
The problem with automatic installation of updates is the automatic reboot of windows, something I want control over. I can't have my windows reboot whenever it wants to. This is unstable behavior and I hate it. I want a stable system.
But is there a way?
Currently, the only way I can see is to make a schedule job that runs every minute to stop the windows update service, but that is a bit much and probably disruptive when I game.
I am prepared to hack via registry and more. I just don't know where to attack it.
