I joined Team 64 but my name isn't anywhere.

I just started running Folding@Home and joined Team 64 (Rage3D). My nickname is False_Christian but it's not showing me. There are a 1000 members that are shown only? Is this the limit and, if so, should I start my own team?

Thank you.

Create a new team? There is only one team, and your on it!!

If you don't mind my asking what kind of system are you rocking out on to fold. From the WU's your turning in it looks like your running the single thread client atm. Which is fine and we appreciate every WU turned in! But if you've got a dual core or quad core system and you want to push out more points the SMP client might be more your style. And then there's GPU clients as well!!!

Lots of info in this thread about both if you've got time to have a look. We are also happy to answer any question you've got.

that would be worth 20k to 40k ppd depending on how you use your system and how you set up the folding client... I would go with at least smp and one gpu client. you may choose to run gpu clients on both cards for maximum points.

I'm confused about all these Clients. I'm running 6.23 right now but I want it use all 4 of my cores and use both of my GTX 460s.

What should I do?

you wont be able to use all the cores and both GPUs as some processing power is needed to run the GPU client. I would suggest using the V7 beta client as it's a peace of cake to setup.

How many cores does Windows show you have? Just 4 or is it 8 ?
Whichever it is I would drop 1 off the number for the GPU. You may even have to consider dropping 2 off, 1 for each GPU, to get the best out of them. You will have to balance what gives you the best PPD overall.

I have two AMD 5870s with an i7-2600k but the overall best PPD is SMP7 and 1 GPU. Especially with an overclocked CPU.

None of the I5's support hyper threading so he's got 4 cores to work with (and technically so do i7 users but thats a different discussion!)

Since he has such a high OC, i'm willing to bet he could run with 2 cores and both GPU's and pump out some nice numbers.

Nvidia gpu clients use next to no cpu power at all, unlike AMD gpu clients. he should be able to max out all cores with the smp client while still running 2 gpu clients.

you are currently using the v7 client, which is good. the reason why you were not maxing all cores previously is because smp units (multithreaded units) are no longer available for clients older than version 6.34.
