i'm in yo folding groups, stealin yo ranks!

Don't poke the bear. :nope:

On second thought, actually do please.

I'm thinking a little poking might get him producing like he use to :)

Be nice to see him try the new clients, to see if some of the issues have been remedied. One killer has been the deployment issue, something that really pushed super-folders away (like how???). Last I checked, that hasn't been remedied (deployment via images etc)

Ya i've not seen a good way to deploy this to multiple machines. I'm controlling a few here at work through the gui but i installed them all by hand.

I think I remember reading on the Folding Forums something about this. They will not be adding this kind of support (i.e. the ability to mass role-out the client in a preconfigured way) because they do not want to give the ability to "Borg" machines.

Now, having said that, at least in Windows you can now install the F@H software and have it NOT try to start folding right away. You could take an image of that Windows install, deploy it to a new PC and then just copy a preconfigured config.xml file to the machine.

This is also pretty simple software. It wouldn't be a stretch to just capture the configured install using Wise (or similar), make an executable out of it and deploy the client that way.

But really, the installation of the v7.3.6 client and the configuration takes less than 5 minutes and you are up and folding. So it shouldn't impact "super folders" unless they are Borging PC's. :D

If true, lame. How???, and perhaps others, might still be Folding if Stanford hadn't mucked up the client, making it too troublesome to mass deploy. How??? is actually the perfect example of doing things on a large scale - the right way and with the full authority to do so.

Oh man I remember the How?? days. Sometimes I feel like folding a few WUs under his name just to mess with ppl ;)
:p

Hard to imagine what he could produce these days, with today's WUs & hardware. I'd say a few million ppd would be a conservative estimate.
