On Friday, April 6, 2001, Indrema Corporation was terminated. This decision marked the end of a prolonged and unsuccessful attempt to secure subsequent round funding to support continued operation. Our vision to empower independent game developers to take control of their future and redefine the next generation of interactive entertainment lives on in the hearts of many hopeful and ambitious creators, artists and innovators. The revolution will continue without Indrema...

What was up with this console...anybody get the scoop???

I would say that its an xbox, but without the money..

They were also very very stupid business wise. I mean they had 0$ licensing fees for 3rd parties. Sure you might get support if you get the console on the shelves but you arent making money.

Another stupid linux type of dream without money support.

Sounded like it was going to be on the coattails of the X-box...

yup. It was more of a PC than anything else though. I mean you were able to upgrade parts of it, gpu, cpu, hdd, memory etc etc.

It wouldnt have worked in a console environment, period.
Console developers have to make a game to take advantage of the initial setup. If the user doesnt upgrade but the developers move to higher hardware, the guy is basicly FORCED to upgrade.. Not very smart for a console business.

The former employees are now working on another console project for some big company in japan, i think it was toshiba? not sure..
