Internet speed test

I still got DSL but 1000/100 Fiber is rolling out this summer/fall.

DSL- 25/3 from Mark Twain Telecommunications (50/10 is available)

LTE- 2.5Mbps Down, 800Kbps Up for US Cellular (only available in the far east side of town where no one lives).... and 5Mbps Down, 3Mbps Up for Chariton Valley Wireless available all over town.

Fixed Wireless- 25/3 through Mark Twain

Generally Mark Twain always reaches those speeds. As they have a direct line to their Tier 1 provider. (think 20ms ping from Missouri to LA on the DSL line)

Tested while my son is streaming video, but not bad..could get 1gig/1gig for 10$ more a month, but no need.

F U F U F U

But seriously, wish I could get fiber. Only live in one of the richest effing counties in the world but my ghetto ass city only has AT&T and Spectrum. Any one city over - gigabit. Mine? Top is like 200 down 20 up.

If using Comcast its time to download the Internet in true COVID-19 hysteria fashion, Data cap suspended for 60 days!:runaway: :runaway: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Just got a promo for my fiber connection I was paying $90 a month now paying $50 for a year then $80 after. Not too shabby

It'd be a lot faster if you WFH arsewhipes got of the internet
and stopped interferin' with me downloadz.

So if you had download speed of 900Mbps would you be able to download a game from Steam also at that speed or does it bottleneck somewhere?

Steam bottlenecks.

I get 10~15Mbps down on a good day.

Days where there is a sale is more like 3~5Mbps...

So having 900Mbps download is technically a waste because how often do you actually benefit from that speed?

What is the speed that is best bang for buck? … For a variety of downloads and streaming?

Or how I can also ask this is … For what type of download can you experience the full 900Mbps speed? Maybe a FTP site connected to an ISP backbone perhaps?
