iOS 13

Did you ever solve this?
Thinking about pairing my kids iPad with his PS4 Dual Shock, but now concerned that it may prove more trouble than its worth.

By the way, have you tried physically connecting the PS4 controller back to the console via the USB cable?
My past pairing issues (non iPad/iOS) have been resolved by doing this.

Nope, never solved it. Even plugging it into the PS4 directly via USB failed (tried 2 different cables which are known to work). I think somehow the controller got borked. It can still pair with the iPhone, so I guess I have a permanent controller for iOS now. Luckily I have 2 DS controllers for the PS4 and we never play 2-player games anymore, so it's no huge loss. Just annoying.

iphone 11 seems to have a much shorter battery life than my note 8

it maybe ios 13 from what I'm reading or me using it more

but even just setting on the desk overnight seems to drain battery

I may end up keeping it on a wireless charger every night

The recently released iOS 13.1.1 is supposed to fix the battery drain issue.

Seems like every major iOS release has a battery drain issue requiring a .1 release almost immediately. You'd think Apple would test for that.

And we already have 13.1.2. Downloaded faster than usual but it's flickering my phone more than usual for these things and right after it comes up, appstore tells me all three iWork apps have updates.

My old iphone7 can lose about 5% overnight, I charge it 2 hours before going to bed and unplug it at 90% now. If you are going to charge it unattended please have that battery minder feature going and report back if it sometimes leaves the phone undercharged (which should be around 80% if I read the feature correctly).

yes and seems to have fixed the battery drain
it did't lose 50% last night just sitting on the desk

All this talk about the deep fusion **** but Im not even sure what it is. Its supposed to make pictures sharper and more detailed by layering images through machine learning or whatever. Great. Apple showed like one or two pics during the keynote but didnt give a reference point of what they looked like before deep fusion. Give me a before and after so I can tell if its actually worth talking about.

They should preempt with their own take on it. The beta is out like you said so I am sure we will get some comparisons from the youtubers but we shouldnt have to wait for them to do the leg work. Especially when apple showed this at their conference.

I also have a DSLR but to lug that mofo and the good lens around is just too much damn work. These days the phone is good enough for everything but the most special occasions.

Okay now I'm experiencing the battery drain. Except according to the meter it's fine when I'm not using the phone but using it is really draining it and for me this started with 13.1.2!

Ughh.
That sucks.

I was hoping that plugging it back in directly via USB cable to the PS4 would solve this.

I'm afraid to try it now based on your experience -- seems Apple really screwed the pooch on this one, and if so, I can't believe a bigger deal isn't being made of it.

Actually, I finally solved it. Turns out it was just a problem with the UI in the PS4 Settings>>Devices screen. The controller was showing up at the bottom of a list of blank lines, so I had to scroll to the bottom to see it. Once I selected it, the PS4 was able to pair with it again. Not sure what was up with that screen.
