Is it already safe to install 4in1?

Hi. I was wondering if it's already "safe" to install the via 4in1 drivers. I'm looking at version 4.32 and I'm pretty uncertain because I've got not such a good history with some of the older drivers (bluescreens on w2k bootup). So has the bluescreen problem in windows 2000 bootup been solved? Because I really would like some extra hdd performance but I don't want to screw up my w2k setup, so is it safe to install these now? Thanks in advance :)

Why the 4in1's?
Do you require the ide bus driver?
Ppl complain about problems with the 4in1's and don't even need them (/me thinks)
Since I used Sandra to look into that I realised that M$ ide bus drivers are still better than Via's,so I don't bother with them anymore.
I just get and try any new release of the Vagp module and install on top(just clic the .exe)...small and painless.
But computers being what they are your milleage may vary...

I'm running the kt7a also and flashed to the latest bios, installed 4.32 via's and 2k/ME are fine. It was also fine with the origional bios to though.

4.32 fixes a lot of problems. You should be just fine. Your gaming performance is about 50% without the 4in1 drivers. In short they are a MUST HAVE and the later version the better in most cases.
I don't recommend you touch the 4.26 drivers, only go for 4.32 and later.

I strongly recommend flashing the BIOS and then installing the 4in1s. I've experienced boosted performance on my 1.4 GHz Athlon with the latest BIOS 4.32s upgrading from the outdated 4.26s with a first-release BIOS. Also, don't forget to set the AGP driver to run in turbo mode.

All you really need are the VIA AGP drivers and Service Pack 2 for Win2k and you will be fine. I am using the drivers from Win2k for the IDE Bus because they are faster than the VIA ones.

A way to bypass it.. hmm.. either you have to remember the password or reset the bios settings to default by moving the CMOS clear jumper to another place for a while and then moving it back. See the manual for the CMOS Clear (It resets all your bios settings to default)
