Damn just been having a look at our production. Only 66 members actively folding?

Honestly, I've been thinking about switching to EVGA. Yes its selfish but damn, $120 bucks a year just for folding?

Switching teams saves you money?

Team still has some dedicated contributors, but afaik no active leadership organizing things. But yes, long drop from where we used to be. :(

Evga gives you "EVGA Bucks" to use on their site to buy hardware.

Basically you have to earn 250,000 points a month. 250,000 points rewards you with 5 EVGA bucks. If you earn 500,000 points you get an additional 5 evga bucks, for a total of 10. 12 months in the year is 120 EVGA bucks. 1 EVGA buck is equal to 1 dollar in the EVGA online store.

 So let me get this straight. You don't fold for over 2 years - personal choice and that's fine. You decide that you'd like to get back into folding again and start it up - excellent.

For 3 days you contribute to your old Team Rage3D and then post a statement about there only being 66 folders producing for the team. You then leave and move to team "me too".

The entire point of the Folding@Home project is the science. We are offering our spare (and sometimes purchased and dedicated) hardware to help process the scientific work being done by the Pande Group. This will hopefully end up helping us all.

So, you just answered you're own question about what has probably happened to the team over the years. If you are folding so you can get paid then you are doing it for the wrong reason.

+1

As an aside Hats off to you long time folders some very impressive WU totals.

Dave, lol, you are only a few spots above me in the rankings so I noticed the quick squirt you gave us there ;)

As Bleeder mentioned, folding should be about the science. I like how there is a competitive nature to it, as it motivates many to add more firepower to the mix, but what keeps me going is that I truly believe in what Stanford is trying to achieve in the research. Trust me, someday down the line this is going to benefit almost all of us. I also feel a certain loyalty to Team 64, which introduced me to the project back in 04.

BTW, now I understand why evga has so many folders.
