just bought a DS:Lite

just got my daughter a DS lite from LIK-SANG for her birthday (okay ... its about 1/2 month after ... but got tired of waiting for us release)

very sweet device ... lol ... everything is in japanese or something ... dnloaded the instruction manual in english ... changed the default language settings

questions are:

1) i was in costco the other day and saw some type of memory/brain game ... anyone have any thoughts/experiences with this? recommend/walk-away?
2) got chronicles of narnia - used: seems very very similar to the LOTHR game for the advance
3) any must have suggestions? i was planning on getting NIN:Dogs for her.

Hey man gg on the purchase and I hope your daughter enjoys it, especially since there is an assload of worthwhile games around.

1) The game your referring to is Brain Age, and although I haven't had much chance to sit down w/ it my brother played it constantly for a few days. From what he's said about it I would give it a recommendation although theres a few titles I would consider before that.

I think that your deadon with Nintendogs, as that will proly be right up her alley. I would also look into Animal Crossing and Mario Kart as they are both pretty neat but I think you need to be able to go online to really get your monies out of them. My current favourite for that little beast is Tetris, as there really is nothing that compares to pwning some guy in England in one of the most classic puzzlers of all time :drool:
 
Brain Age is great. It's a series of mental excercises and puzzles designed to make you smarter while having fun. It's fun and addictive. LOTS of Sudoku puzzles.
 
Im getting intrested in brain age....

Im really loving the different games that are coming out for the ds :D

Oh also I would recommend Nintendogs and Animal Crossing for you daughter :D
 
Get her nintendogs for sure. My daughter loves this game and I have a blast watching her walk around and talking to the DS...

If you want, you can visit a best buy or gamestop or something and download a demo of Brain Age straight to the DS.

For $20, it's worth picking up. Haven't done so myself yet, but I've been broke.

And yes, Tetris DS online ****ing pwns.
 
im not so sure im comfortable with the online stuff

how much chatting happens within these games?
or is it just purely a matchmaking service?

also ... in a nutshell how would i go online? i have a wireless router in my house is that enuff or do i have to go to a 'sponsored' hotspot?

No chatting actually happens in these games. WFC is purely a matchmaking service. Metroid Prime Hunters supports chating in the lobby, but only if you're on each others friends list, and only in the lobby, not in the game.

When you buy a WFC game and choose the WFC option, you'll get the setup which will help you choose an access point. You don't have to go to a McDonalds or something.

there was a time in which i was pretty nasty at that game (i hope its a 19.99 ditty)

Is there an exact date of the release of the DS lite in the US. I have searched some retail sites and turned up nothing.

i was also betting on may

but i read somewhere that the official date was in june

when i get home ill look thru my history list


btw ... tetris was 34.99 ... ugh ... maybe later
 
Do yourself a favor Encyclopedia, and don't buy from Gamestop or EB or whatever. Tetris is 29.99 at WalMart and BestBuy.

I think if the DS Lite was launching in June, we'd have heard a lot more about it. Supposedly the release date gets announced on the 5th though.
 
i cant stand wal-mart

and my opion of best-buy is just a tad bit better

i suppose i could check the local pawn shops/ebay out
 
I've stopped going in to game specialty stores altogether. At least if I go to WalMart I'm not pestered to pre-order something fifty times.

swag? What swag? I've never gotten any swag at a eb/gamestop before.
