Just Cause 4

Got JC 1. Never installed.
Got JC 2. Did some benches and maybe played for about 2 hours.
Got JC 3. Hated the first 2 hours of it. Got it again on PS4 due to my PLUS membership.
Not getting JC 4.

I got the early access version for standard price. If the info is correct I can start playing at 7pm est tonight . However if the LOD is soupy like in jc3 I'll be asking for a refund.

This game looks demanding as.. will pick this up but not off the bat. ASS Creed keeping me busy for quite some time.

They added a "Front Line" mechanic to this game that enables the protagonist to engage in the war between the two factions. The areas are high-heat, and constant combat. On a negative note, early access has not begun yet for the pc version. The console versions are live though I believe? Here is a 38 minute preview of the pc version in 4k. Nice to see the Blackhand has recruited some female combatants.

Had fun with JC2, but JC3 didn't really interest me. Will see how the feedback on this one goes.

Game unlocked while I was getting ready for work. Will be playing after midnight. I hear they are going to patch ray tracing for a 100% performance increase :p .

I accidentally deleted my save file. If you click new game and then left click anywhere, your save is gone. Not sure why they don't make you select a save slot or default to a new save slot. Lost 20hrs of progress with 2 accidental clicks. :/

Game is alright, decent action. The storm stuff is a bit of a gimmick. The tornado is the best. It's fun to watch and swing around it. Dust storm is annoying and crappy. Thunderstorm is okay--you get a sweet weapon from it. Story is mehtastic.

It streamlines a lot of things from JC3. No need to destroy everything in a base. You just destroy stuff at your own leisure, earn chaos, earn squads and then take over regions. Some repetitive aspects to taking over regions as you need to complete facility missions. Not many challenges to do outside speed stunts, bringing vehicles to a location, and wingsuit stunts. There are hidden tombs and statues to play around with, and some side missions.

Weapons are quite different. No hand-held bombs/c4 this time. No grenades. No pistols. Most weapons have alternative fire mode and many of them are explosive (e.g. noob tube for AR) so it feels adequate. I find myself swapping weapons a lot, unlike JC3.

Grapple has more options now, including air lifts and putting booster jets from range. So it can be more useful in combat. Most are not that practical for action.

Driving ground vehicles is pretty good, bikes are a bit weird. On PC the game is passable. Menu is pretty bad. Cut scenes look like garbage (videos). I like the different biomes and I think it mostly looks good. Not sure it looks better than JC3 though. Mouse speed is VERY slow by default. I have to double my normal mouse speed to get it to turn fast enough.

If you liked JC3 but thought it annoying to destroy everything in city areas, then this should be enjoyable (city areas are largely ignored). The jungle area is quite like JC2. Map is a bit sparse for me. Swooping with the wingsuit is still fun.

I quite liked destroying every little red object in a base. Sad to hear that go for me.

Just started this and no real time cut scenes hurts it a lot for me :( All the other games cut scenes were real time IIRC. Not the best place to cut the budget.

So after the stand off on the bridge what do I do now?
Check your map (press 1). There are a few quests not far away.

There were a few cut scenes in JC3, but most were indeed real time. I wouldn't mind so much if they weren't so ugly.

I'm going to wait for the holiday sales before picking it up, I'm kind of assuming that it will be heavily discounted as it will probably bomb like everything else released in nov-dec that isn't red dead or nintendo exclusive.

Will do, thanks. Once of the things I never liked about the Just Cause series is that sometimes it's not clear what you're supposed to be doing other than blowing random **** up.

There's also the AR mode (press tab). It highlights stunts and other mini-tasks around the area. It's quite useful for identifying vehicles and finding weapon boxes.

Just played some and there are real time cut scenes. The first cut scenes arent though.

Somehow the traversal in this game just feels so slow compared to the last game. It feels completely different and its not a good thing.

Getting the boosted wing suit helps the speed quite a bit I might just finish this one now.
