I honestly wasn't going to give this game the time of day, but tried the demo out a couple weeks back and went all in. I can't believe how salty this game makes me, though. It's basically a fighting game disguised as a sweet little tennis match.

Online is brutal, though. I was losing so many games in last month's tournament that I was starting to get matched with people who obviously had both hands amputated. I think I'm getting better, though - playing people with hands, but very very small ones.

Any of you pick this one up?

I was going to pick it up but it seems more based on online play which to be honest I hardly play online games anymore. Pretty much for the reasons you mentioned, I get owned in just about all online matches to the point where I believe everyone is cheating

I picked it up, just playing the campaign though -- really fun and addictive.

Lol. I did just figure out that I've been playing it wrong, so although I still have a losing record, my matches are hugely challenging and entertaining (and heartbreaking).

Not that I work for Nintendo or anything, but the game does have a local vs AI tournament mode which is still really fun and challenging, a 6+ hour campaign (will probably be double for me since it's also super hard in places) and local multiplayer for up to 4 people playing doubles (been a blast with the kids). They even have a swing-mode option for local play similar to Wii Tennis, but more accurate and fun.

I picked it up, just playing the campaign though -- really fun and addictive.

I rage at the campaign as much as online play it seems. Trying to win the mirror racket from Boo had me wanting to throw my controller!
