hey, I don't know alot about laptops and such. I got an IBM T40. It has a 1.5ghz Pentium M and a Radeon Mobility 7000. Just wondering if the 9600 would fit? Would this system be good for gaming? It has PC2100 DDR 512mb ram in it as well

Just curious

Edit: Well good for mobile gaming, you know what I mean

haha

haha

Sorry, wrong forum. I wasn't paying attention. I shall slap myself now!!!

and for when it gets moved (sorry again) I have a 7500, not 7000.

Unfotunatly, no laptop in the world has a full-size AGP slot. A very small # of them have a "mini-agp", and can be changed (For instance, the Alienware laptops being made by Uniwill, or the Voodoo laptops). Otherwise, sorry, no changing... :(

well, there CAN be some changing!
:) there was some buzz about the 9600 bein pin-compatible with the 9000.... (as far as I know)
so, you could just swap chips, and you'd have the 9600!
but.... I think the 7500 is before this compatibility, so no upgrades for you, sorry....

It MAY be pin compatible, but how many laptops had removable 9000s? :P

Also, how many 9000 boards had good 3.3ns DDR. Or, even BGA memory for that matter...
