... I know it is in the wrong area... sorry... but I don't feel the mobility forum is really got a lot of users checking it out....

anywayz, I wanted to know if anyone knows of any laptops that have the x1700 in them and are being sold in the USA. I have gone to the ati site that lists the products that have their cards, but it must be outta date as I would go to the vendor they mention but not find any laptops with the card I want in it.

I did find one laptop, the ASUS F3Jp (they got the most f'ed up naming convention btw) but I can only find it for sale in Australia....
 
I think the reason why there isn't much activity in the mobility sub forum is that not too many problems have creeped up on laptops using modern mobile ATi chipsets/video cards. I guess that's a good thing? For me I've had zero problems with my X300 mobility whether it's gaming or business apps.

Another reason I can think of is that the high end gaming laptops seem to be tipped to the nVidia side at the moment thanks to nVidia's marketing.
 
they also have the x1800 in laptops (alienware). I was thinking of going with one of these cuz I am getting tired of the 6800 ultra I got in my xps right now... nothging wrong with it when it comes to gaming but I have a hard time seeing stuff on the desktop and when surfing.... not sure what it is, but i just have a hard time seeing.... the scroll BARs are almost the same color as the the scroll area... the text is sometimes hard to read. I have tried messing with contrast, color, vibrance, etc etc and am just tired of it.

anywayz, having said how much 'I don't like my 6800 ultra', I want you all to know I really do like it and it is a great card, but I just like the viewing I see on my other desktops/laptops that all have ATI. Anywayz, I have pretty much convinced myself now to stick with my current dell xps until a few months or so when the new ati mobilities come out.
