i oughta slap you silly boy. is nintendo not an North American company? even if it is not, the new gamecube is powered by a canadian made CPU/GPU/APU. The ATI flipper chip. i dont think a japanese company would ever go to canada? for their chips, they would make them, themselves

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. Nintendo IS a Japanese company. They started out in Japan long ago. They existed there for a long time before the NES was released in North America. And the Flipper wasn't made by ATI (a Canadian company)...it was made by ArtX (a graphics and multimedia company in Palo Alto, California)..ATI bought the company a while ago but the Flipper chip was already done by that point. And also, Nintendo went to all sorts of companies to make the Gamecube (not just themselves) : ArtX (now ATI), IBM, Panasonic (aka Matsushita), MoSYS, etc. Technically because Nintendo is a Japanese company the Gamecube is a Japanese console. The Xbox is one of the only american originated consoles so I'd have to say that Japanese consoles are the best....Xbox isn't out yet so it doesn't count for anything (Gamecube either)

Gamecube have american technology (mosys, ibm, artx, factor5) but its fully assembled in japan from NEC's manufacturing plant.

But i still consider it a japanese console since well its nintendo that decided what THEY wanted in their console.

Xbox is american technology also, but manufactured in mexico...

Well a console is nothing without good games. Nintendo has an awesome track record for this. The Gamecube is powerful, well-priced, and easy to develop for. I'm not sure yet about the Microsoft sibling yet but I'm betting heavily on "The Nintendo Difference"

Before you start bashing US companies, don't forget that THE largest hardware company in the world, IBM, is an American company. IBM is not only the largest chipmaker, it is the worlds largest software company, distributing even more software than Microsoft, which is also an American company. Motorola and TI are two other American companies that are among the top chipmakers in the world. True, they have lost a share of the market lately, but they are still among the best. Just because you don't see their names on a product, doesn't mean they don't have chips inside it.

Oh, and Intel and AMD provide very little in terms of harware. Intel and AMD combined make less than 1 percent of the worlds processors. Most of the other companies you named are very small in terms of world share also. Nvidia, ATI, Matrox, Elsa, Hercules, and Plextor all comtribute very little to the worlds chip market. They might be household names and may power your PC, but don't forget that PC's make up only a small portion of the worlds computers.

Nintendo a US company?!

Nintendo a US company?!

No it's not it never has been although they have a US Headquarters, Nintendo will always be Japanese and is the longest running games producer of all time, although they did stuff up when they decided to cancel the PLaystation-X project they had going with Sony, they lost out big time on that

where would I find a Collecovision?

where would I find a Collecovision?

I think those Collecovisions and the old Atari's look real cool, i just gotta find one I heard that people are selling them on E-Bay for around $1000

LOL WHAT?!! Um seeing I have both, gonna head over to ebay to see if it is really true.

It is a known fact that Japanese Electronic products are the best, no suprise there. It's easy to bash the United States seeing America is by far the most powerful nation on Earth in many ways including the production of goods, technology, food products etc. etc.

People Miss Understanding

People Miss Understanding

First up to bat is this. Ok theres an over excited guy in here with a guy miss representing the U.S.. Second. America Was the people who made Computers possible. so if you want to talk who did what and what did what, Than America is the what. Without America, No chips probaly to this day would of been invented, a lot more of countries would still be living in huts if there was no America. No internet, none of this. Like many things now, The world bites off America. Everyone deep down inside wants to be like an American Even if they hate us. Example, Have you seen Japanese Rap in japan, Yeah exactly. Personaly a lot of the things other countries get from the U.S. i don't like. Second, America's strength is that it's a melting pot of people, where everyones strength's can Strengthen us. For instance, ooh your from china, must be chinese. Get the point. If your an American you should be damn proud of that. Now, the reason why a lot of computer parts are not made in the U.S. is simple, why should U.S. companies pay a lot more to have Americans put together simple chip sets when we can have other countries doing our grunt work for a lot cheaper. Labor is just too much to spend in the U.S.. Think if you were a company in the U.S. and you could have a factory in the U.S. where you could pay 10 bucks for labor to create 1 MotherBoard or 10cents i would rather have more manufacturing companies in the U.S. cause it makes us more self dependant in time of war but than again were Americans, We get smart and quick when theres emergancies. Even The Russian Spy admitted that in one of his telegrams to Russia. It's not like America Put a gun to your head and said move here or else. The point i'm making is this, I'm proud to live in America and have all the cultural diversity here. I'm not saying were the greatest or the worst or even bashing other countries, i'm just listing the facts so if you live in America and gloating about other countries about this and that, go move there and make my Motherboard and tell me how great it is.

Oh boy someone needs to get off his soap box and try and figure out who poisoned his brain with such gibberish...LOL

NEWS FLASH!
America has done some really good things...some bad. I like the U.S. and appreciate a lot of the things they have to offer and have done for the world. Do not believe for a second though that the world would not be able to function without it. I just love the "America is the centre of the Universe" attitude. And no, I have absolutely no desire to live there whatsoever (do they hand out guns to everyone when they get their citizenship?). I'm quite happy living in Canada (the greatest country in the world) thank you very much.

LOL I had to say something :p
