Does this game work with a lan or has it been disabled? thx

Do a Google search for a prog called NCops. They'll also have a link to a gamepatch. I believe this enables LAN, it enabled peer-to-peer IP for me (looks like LAN's enabled, haven't tried it yet). Anyone else with whom you play will have to have the smae stuff. My NFS-5 is now vers. 3.5

I've played this game a on a LAN a lot. It works just fine.
