Nvidia RTX 30XX Rumor thread

25% would be a reasonable increase. Of course, we'd all like 50%.

It would be a great upgrade either way for 1080Ti owners.

it maybe the normal 30% performance increase in normal stuff and 50% in RTX stuff

and a 25% price increase over Turring:bleh:

I'm wondering if it will be barely faster than the 2080 Ti in normal rasterization (like 10%), and then way faster in RTX. If they keep sacrificing a ton of the die for RTX processing, then general graphics performance can't increase much. But RTX is just too slow on the 2000 series, so they really need to bump it up.

I wonder if the 50% figure is referring to RTX. Frankly even then it's not going to be in-line with normal rasterization performance, although it will be getting closer.

I don't know if I agree with that. Most RTX games I've played at my res have been 90 FPS+ with RTX enabled.

well without dlss at 4k in most things with ray tracing is 40 to 45 FPS

and with dlss it is not really 4k (not really a big fan of dlss so far at 4k)

most non RTX games are fine at 4k with a top end 2080 ti so 20% to 30% for cyberpunk 2077 (and other new games) should be fine for non RTX side

but the RTX side is going to need a 50% to 75% boost to run at full 4k and to run the RTX in cyberpunk 2077 if it does have it

I did say at my res Bill, I'm not dumb enough to play @ 4K. :p ;)

It would be a even greater upgrade for 1660ti owners too :bleh:. God I can't wait for the 3080/ti to release.

Like anything it should depend on the price/performance ratio but some people will always pay whatever it costs for the best performing card. Early adopters get screwed in every market I'm afraid that's the way of the world.

I agree 100% with bill. I have had a 4k monitor for 4 years and while my 980TI SLI setup struggled on a few games it could handle it for the most part. My 1080TI SLI setup could crush 4K no problems. Now that Microsoft and AMD have killed SLI we have been set back 5 years on the PC and consoles are now doing 4K. It's a disgrace and I don't know why anyone would even game on the PC at sub console resolutions. This industry has gone insane.

I went 2560x1600 in 2007 and it is still better than 1440p :p

went 4k 40 inch June 24, 2015 and want 8k now
but will most likely buy a 55 to 65 inch 4k HDMI 2.1 screen with VRR Freesync & hopefully g sync this year

would only look at the few 8k screens if SLI/CFX still worked

After my experiences with 4k, I have no interest in 8K resolution. It will take this industry 20 years to get there at this rate. I'll buy 8K on my next TV purchase because it will be the norm but I doubt a disc player that plays movies at 8K outside of upscales will be available. Considering most people have not moved on from DVD, and how slow 4K has been adapted, I don't see any reason to move up for now. I am using a 65 Inch 4K screen at the moment and I might buy a 77 inch 8K screen in a couple years but I have no reason to believe movies or games will be able to take advantage of it during it's lifetime.

My next purchase in February will be an Ultra Wide 3440x1440 at 144Hz. I will stick with the Sixtuple 2080Ti until the 3080Ti comes out. That should crush at that res.

That's a good call. I think the 3080TI will be close to a 1080TI SLI setup in performance and it can kill 4K so you will be good to go at that resolution. I can't believe how long Nvidia is waiting between card launches these days for the same 30% increase at double the price though. So silly. The 3080TI will deliver the same performance at the same price as a 1080TI SLI setup from 4 years prior. We have literally gone nowhere for half a decade.

if SLI still worked 8k would be fine
I think two 2080 ti strix in SLI on water would be fine and 3 would better

Yeah but by the time a new set of cards is available a new generation of more demanding games will be here. If you tried to play RDR2 at 8K on a 4080TI I bet it would crumble. I just don't see Nvidia getting around the industry standards that Microsoft and AMD have put in place. SLI is gonna need a miracle solution to bypass the problems that DX12 has brought to the table and do it with no competition what so ever just to appease the 1% of us that would be willing to spend $3000 on a graphics setup.
