The release of the GF2 ULTRA is a sign of respect from Nvidia to ATI.

(If it wasnt for the radeon, I doubt NVidia would have released this card unless the NV 20 suffered setbacks)

sure its fast but most user want the best of both worlds for that sort of money and in Windows Nvidia come up short by a long way.

I still have an old Tnt the 32 bit colour is disgusting in windows.

I like to program 3d so it best to have good 2d & good 3d, and when I way up the pros RADEON KICKS NVIDIAS ASS!

Radeon 64meg = Cheaper, better Image Quality,
more extras.

GF2 Not so Ultra = Just fast!!!!

Um... rumor has it that the NV20 DID suffer setbacks... (Q1 2001 rather than Q3 2000) and that the Ultra is the Fall Refresh

Hi Ironduke,

The latest update that I have is that Nvidia's NV20 product is set for a spring 2001 release.

HardOCP website’s Kyle, commented concerning the sudden release of the Geforce 2 Ultra: "Another thing funny is that this is the card that Derek Perez of NVIDIA PR explained to me FACE TO FACE IN DETAIL that NVIDIA would NOT produce". END

Nvidia probably wanted to future proof their NV20 product for DirectX 8/9 since ATI currently supports the largest portion of these features.

Jungle and Simply have good deals - I've gone for Jungle as they're £10 cheaper (inc vat) and I don't like Simply anymore (not after my fiasco of losing my return and blaming me for not sending, blah blah blah)
