Official AMD Ryzen 5000 Series & 7000 Series Thread

I got it all together. Getting pretty much what review sites have shown. A little over 36,000 in cinebench multi core with temps around 85C. I did finally read a Ryzen ram tuning guide and managed to get my secondary timings tuned. I'm getting about 82000 read with latency around 67ns which is pretty good for a 4X16GB RAM set. Running my RAM at 6000Mhz 30, 36, 36, 28 , CR1.

Stalker Anomaly did gain from moving to the 7950X3D like I had hoped. I can turn the grass draw distance up one more notch and still gained 10FPS to my minimum frame rate. The game is starting to overload my 4090OC with a 60FPS cap though, so max grass shadow distance and quality with the SSS mod won't be possible till the 5000 series hits in 2025. I'm impressed though, moving from a 9900K to a 7950X gained me maybe 10% more performance and I had to disable the second CCD otherwise it was the same speed as my 9900K in this game. Moving from the 7950X to the 7950X3D gave me a larger performance increase and now game bar disables the second CCD automatically every time the game starts.

The 7950X3D runs much more hot in stalker anomaly but it actually runs much cooler in cyberpunk. My 7950X would run at 73C in cyberpunk and the 7950X3D runs at 65C contrary to what some reviewers have experienced. With lower package power of 70 watts and a CCD disabled plus a lower frequency means lower temps most of the time from what I have seen. Stalker is the exception mainly because the chip is being forced to work much harder and it's cache is being fully utilized at all times. Anomaly also has AVX 512 which might have something to do with it. I might try disabling it to see how it affects performance and temps.

One last thing, since I set up all of my ram timings manually I decided to set the SOC to 1.25 just to be safe. It didn't effect stability and runs my improved and faster timings nice and stable. I let it run all night with no problems. I've pushed a 200Mhz clock increase and a -30 voltage curve with zero problems as well. I'm starting to think it's not the silicon lottery and has more to do with the motherboard regarding voltage curve and ram overclocking. I've had zero stability issues with either chip at -30 voltage offset and +200Mhz OC. The only thing that I can't push hard is the infinity fabric which will fail to boot if I go beyond 2033Mhz.

AMD to Sell Ryzen 5 5600X3D Chip Exclusively Through Micro Center

In a surprise move, AMD will sell a desktop gaming processor exclusively through Micro Center.

The US electronics retailer will sell the newly announced Ryzen 5 5600X3D, a lower-spec variant of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D that AMD launched last year using its 3D V-Cache technology. Micro Center will start selling the limited-edition processor on July 7 for $229.99, or about $50 less than the current price for the 5800X3D.

“Designed with an impressive base clock speed of 3.3GHz and a boosted speed of up to 4.4GHz, the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D processor delivers amazing speed and responsiveness, ensuring seamless gameplay even in the most demanding scenarios,” Micro Center says.

I can sorta get that. As I think I remember reading that it is a some what limited release.

Wouldn't that be running 2:1 with infinity fabric or some other non 1:1 multi? Means AMD will lose performance in those situations (mostly).

Ordered a 7800X3D, Tomahawk X670E board, 32 GB 6000 CL30 and a 2 TB SSD for a bit over 1000. Sold my 5800X3D combo for 410. Will sell some other stuff so net cost should be 500 or some such. Looking forward to building a PC as I haven’t built one since 2020.

Nice Im waiting for the 8800X3D myself in a couple years. Wonder if they will update the mobos for that tho... be nice to get bit higher memory support.

Congrats on the new upgrade. Just in time for the new Cyberpunk Expansion which is supposed to hit the CPU pretty hard. Starfield could probably use it as well. You probably could have kept your old setup for a few years if you game at 4k but It's always exciting to treat yourself to something nice every now and then. I upgraded from a 7950X to a 7950X3D so I'm in no position to talk about unnecessary upgrades. This site has alot of technical problems so I don't stop by here to often anymore but I try to check in every now and again to see if anyone has built a new monster rig and what kind of experiences they are having with the latest and greatest tech.

Yes the upgrade was pretty simple. Booted right up. Plus I added 4 TB of additional Gen 4 storage. Not bad.

Thus far everything seems to be working fine.
