A couple of beauties you have there.

Just adopted today, 1 year 7 months old. Vet said shes an Australian Shepherd but I dont see it, I see Doberman. Her current name is Dolly but I'm not a fan, thinking of going with Molly.

Adorable dog. Definitely has the Shepherd look. They aren't always merle with gorgeous eyes. Hell, that she isn't might mean she is healthier. Lots of shady breeders are just popping out aussie puppies with the most 'desirable' traits without any concern for the health concerns the dog faces from inbreeding and what not...

Ears and fur aren't right for doberman's by the way. Too long of hair, too short of snout, and not pointy enough ears. The pointy elbows though.... :bleh:

Nice one Dave, good on you for adopting her.

Her markings and stature are very similar to my 9 year old dog named Marley, who is a Kelpie, which is an Australian working dog with border collie and dingo lineage.

The breed 'Australian Shepherd' doesn't exist here, but I imagine in the US it's a broad term and they resemble (or are mixtures of) various working dogs like Kelpies, Blue Healers, Border Collies, Koolies etc. which are all very similar.
Great dogs, very intelligent, but also very active. You also need a good fence. Marley can jump the fence in the photos below, well at least she could when she was younger.

Her partner in crime, Whiskey. No idea what breed he is, just a little POS that I love to death.

Gorgeous doggy, Dave. She's definitely a mix, but I don't see Aussie Shepherd in there at all. Like said above, I see a mix of Doberman and Kelpie.

And demo, Australian Shepherd is not a broad term in the US. It's a definitive breed coming from Australian Cattle Dogs crossed with Border Collies. It originated in California, and is a recognized AKC breed with specific standards.

Looks like a Kelpie to me, which is what I assume the vet would consider an Aussie Shepard as Kelpie is not a recognised breed over there.

Pixel has that face that makes me want to cuddle her and never let go. Such a cute pup!
