Playstation 4 - God of War

This game won GOTY in TheGameAwards. I personally think that Ass Creed, RDR2 or SpiderMan deserved it more than this game. Thoughts?

Great game in the beginning but overall I'm a little disappointed.

It just ended too eruptively. I'm not sure I even ever concentrated
on the main quest and at one point I did focus
on side quests for awhile. I jumped back on the main quest and
WHAM, it's over(did it on, Give Me a Challenge Mode). If it wasn't for me
taking the initiative to do side quests, the game would have ended really
fast.

Thinking about it I didn't even visit all the lands, 3 maybe?
I just started getting in to the armor. I killed the one Valkyrie that was at the end,
which was pretty much a given that they shoot you right at it's door..
I'm not even sure what the enchants and stuff are for.

After the credits are mentioned they mention to go look for all the crap now.
Oh and here's the locations of all the stuff. What??
How about stringing me along during the main quest so on side quests I have a better chance to go through the
content before beating the game so easy.

I get I can go look(which is now given to me) for all the content afterwards now,
but why?

Is there an add-on to continue the game that I missed? Is there one in the works?

Sorry, not GOTY for me.

Yes, I finished the main quest and never turned it on again. It is still installed though but have no motivation to hunt Valkyrie and upgrade armor etc.

I just picked up GOW3 for $3. I'll give it a spin later on.

I may play GOW4 again on it's hardest setting and look for most
of the content I missed while doing it. Now for awhile though.

I have Tomb Raider loading up now and D/L BFV last night.
Hopefully those 2 keep me busy.

The end game is very combat focused. People that love that kind of fighting game enjoyed this one immensely. You, like me, are probably getting a little too old and slow for that type of gameplay. I like it, but don't love it. So I am not that motivated to play through all end game content either. Although, I can see the GOTY awards as so much of the game was so well done. But, if you weren't addicted to the combat, there are some definite weakness in the overall game structure. The story and characters were great. But, by the end, you realize that the game world was actually much smaller than it seems and there is a lot of repetitive side activities that don't add that much to the game if you weren't in love with the combat.

The combat was fine. Much better than most games of this type.
It felt fluid and natural.

I guess I was just caught by surprise when the game ended. Personally
I felt like I was just getting started.

There was SO much content left(I think).

This game looks fantastic, great color and world variety. Monster designs are great and it's just very beautiful. Plus the cut scenes are quite good.

Side tasks for me were pretty boring, so I didn't do many. Combat a bit clunky for my liking, but good enough. I basically did only main quests and didn't have any trouble with any battles. I didn't even use block until the last battle. I thought the end boss battle dragged on too long and actually the last quarter was a bit stretched out. Definitely good solid game, just not without flaws. I doubt I'll go back and do side stuff.

Fun fact: Christopher Judge, who played Teal'c on Stargate SG-1, is the voice of Kratos.
