Playstation 4 - God of War

Performance, even though the framerate is all over the place.

Would have stuck with resolution if the game actually ran a locked 30 though, but it doesn't.

Judder at 3X-5X FPS>Judder at 2X-30 FPS.

Yeah I just started playing yesterday. Been playing in prefer resolution and it definitely feels like its not a constant 30fps, especially noticeable when moving the camera around. I'll have to try performance mode

I played the whole game in resolution mode and then switched it to performance to do some of the trials. Probably better off using performance for me at the distance from the TV I play.

I must be immune to detecting these FPS drops or they just dont bother me, Been playing in resolution mode the whole time so far.

Finally finished the story, was about the right length, felt I was pushing on at the end. Actually went longer then I thought it would, still lots to do if one wants to continue to play it after the story. Would rate it quite high and at this point of the year a game of the year contender.

The game is pretty amazing. But, I have to ask. Do you guys use all of the upgraded attack modes? I am so lame that I usually get hooked on 2 or 3 and learn to rely on those. It never seems to help me that I have 48 different combo options. Watching me fight is probably hilarious as I accidently trigger moves I didn't even know I had … lol..

Honestly, once I fully upgraded BOI there wasn't much need to learn the upgraded attacks. In fact, I bought and unlocked everything in the Skills page but still haven't bothered to figure any of that **** out. Like you, I just found a few things I liked and let that OP BOI of mine take care of the rest.

Ordered the game from Amazon. Amazon randomly got a very limited number in stock and I was able to snag one. Right now, it is again only being sold by third-party sellers. Really looking forward to playing the game on my PS4 Pro. Haven't played any of the previous games though.

Im now wondering if publishers are playing hardball on pricing. I now see Best Buy has just discontinued their gamer club 20 percent off. Once your sub runs out no more 20 percent off. I wouldn't doubt this could be the problem Amazon is having with Sony and their 20 percent off pre-orders. I just wont buy at release anymore if this is going to be the case.

Playing in prefer resolution mode, seems to be stable to me. looks god damned amazing though!

Does anyone else's PS4 Pro ramp up the fan when playing God of War? This is the first game where I can hear the fan from my seating position. Not too loud but I can hear it.

leave it on the map screen for tornado sound from the fan, lol.

mine used to go crazy but I took the PS4 Pro apart and re-applied the thermal paste and put better thermal pads on the VRM and Memory Chips, the ones sony used dont even cover the entire chips.

Took some pics when I did it:

Mine ramps up in almost all games when punching HDR mode.
God of War can be played in performance mode for ultra smooth experience. Also pick up the remastered God of War as well.

Yeah I would say 60fps or uncapped, that's usually when the PS4 fan tends to kick in the most in a lot of games.
