Powerful Phones with Extraordinary Battery Life

There's long-lasting phones, and then there's the ZenFone 3 Zoom. The latest phone from Asus may boast dual rear cameras with an optical zoom, but the phone's true standout feature is its long-lasting battery life. Put simply, the ZenFone 3 Zoom is the longest-lasting smartphone we've ever tested.

My OnePlus 3 has been really good since I got it almost 2 years ago, but the battery life has gotten rather poor since "upgrading" to Android 8.0. So I'm looking to buy a phone with exaggerated battery life this time. tomsguide said the OnePlus 3 only had 8.5hrs of life on their standard test to begin with which pales in comparison to some of the phones on the above list as of 2/5/18.

The only problem is that there is no high-end phone with over 13hrs battery life that isn't the Hauwei Mate 10 Pro. FYI, tomsguide claims that they test all phones using the same basic parameters:

When testing phones, we set each phone's display to 150 nits to normalize for brightness and make sure each handset is receiving at least three bars of service. Just to put this performance in context, the average smartphone lasts 9:40 on our test before running out of power.

Does anyone have experience with another phone? I'm reading great reviews about the Hauwei Mate 10 Pro, but it would be nice to have some choices near the same battery level. The closest competitor is the Google Pixel 2 XL, but its still 2.5hrs behind.

Why don't you just carry a battery pack? https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...ortable-battery-pack-5100-mah-eb-pg950csegus/
That battery is light and small enough to be used at the same time while charging your phone. The battery fits in my pocket along with my note 8. I get over 10% charge in 10mins. that's about one hour gain in runtime.

All the highend phone uses more or less the same chip the difference is the larger battery. You don't have many options if you want battery capacity larger than 3000Mah. Reviewers don't test the power saving but you can gain maybe an hour if you turn on CPU limiter.

Massdrop sells the Mate 10 for $699 at checkout.

Samsung s9+ will be available next month. I think with its new chip you'll see a small gain in battery runtime.

Nothing beats the battery of the Mate 9 or 10, as far as i've seen. It's heavier than the usual phones though.

Question is why you need such a high screentime, with all teh fastchargers you can get your phone up and running in no time even if you've almost killed the battery.

I just don't want to have to charge my phone more than once a day.

I wish phone manufacrurers raced to offer best battery life instead of the "slimmer the better" approach of the past 5-10 years.

Im like hidavi i rather have a phone that last all day without having to charging it or carry additional acessories like battery packs.

Well, with the Mate 10 i don't need to charge the phone for up to 3 days. With very heavy use it would last at least 2 days.

Get a battery pack case.
