  • Out of Video Memory error may randomly appear on some Radeon R9 200/300 series graphics products when playing Fortnite™ with DirectX®12 API enabled.
  • Ring of Elysium™ may experience lower than expected performance on 1440p and 4K display resolutions.

  • Media: Corruption may occur when playing back media while using the 1Mbps bitrate setting.
  • Gaming: Under certain conditions Now Playing changes back to Desktop or the last played game instead of displaying the currently streaming game.

The new UI is great, imo. Really great, especially the fullscreen version while in-game.

However, I had to go back to 19.12.1 because too many games had a new stuttering issue. Despite being over 100fps with freesync, the games stuttered. Doesn't happen on the previous driver.

It might be that first Known Issue described, but I wasn't switching between fullscreen and borderless.

Yeah, experienced stutter at first but it seemed to smooth out after a couple of minutes. Installed "fresh" so not on top of old driver.

I'm assuming the re-release is to fix the error messages during install, it was pretty widespread, I don't see anything different in the release notes. Has anyone tested to see if stutter is gone?

for stutter make sure the radeon overlay is disabled in settings. also try doing alt+enter to make sure you are in fullscreen

That was actually the first thing I tried, and according to the Known Issues, switching to and from full screen makes the stutter worse lol

Against my better judgement I downloaded these yesterday and I installed them from the driver control panel. It asked me what kind of install I wanted and I chose Custom. Unfortunately it gave no options whatsoever it just down loaded and then installed. A reboot later and it was up and running.

The GUI is a bit confusing to say the least but after a few minutes I got the hang of it. Then I noticed a yellow triangle against my card and when I pressed it it said I needed to upgrade to a Radeon VII. Cheeky bas**rds especially as the Radeon VII is EOL in the UK and my 5700XT is their latest release!!

I then noticed that the custom setting was greyed out and it had installed Standard only which is an irritant because I might need custom settings even though atm I'm running stock. At no stage in the install was I given a choice.

I did my own benchies and the good news was nothing had got worse although, of course, nothing had got better. I've not had chance to play any games yet as I'm off work decorating my second biggest bedroom for my son to move into.

So far I'm only getting stuttering in Halo Reach.

Will test more games as I have time.

Wow they broke my games, reverted for now. vSync busted in RDR2 and wont come back with this set, revert and all good again.

Yellow triangle telling you to upgade.. now that is funny! I have my Vega 64.. Nothing telling me to upgrade.. LOL!

I am in agreement about he GUI. Not sure if I like it better or not.. but I don't really spend much time in there, so it doesn't really matter.

So far, I am having no issues, however, I Immediately loaded my OC profile, so everything is in manual. I also never use v-sync as the input lag is real with it enabled, and well, I also have freesync monitor. :D

A lot of chatter on a lot of forums about how buggy this new driver is. Apparently doesn't like UE4 games amongst a number of others. AMD have reached out to reddit users advising they are working on a hot fix which will hopefully be released soon. I've personally not had any issues so I'll keep them for the time being.

Ouch, that means Fortnite (I don't play it). I do have PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds installed, which I haven't played in months, but I may fire it up to check it out. I think that is the only game I play that uses the UE4 engine. Good to know thought, thanks for the heads up.

I played one UE4 game and it was fine... its on alpha tho with basic textures.

I tried the Gothic Playable Teaser and got a "fatal error" message. Someone else with the same issue said reverting from 19.12.2 fixed it, but I haven't tried that yet.
