I have a radeon mobility hd 2600 video card. I ran a s-video cable and audio cale to my television. I used a vga adapter to connect it to my computer, since my t.v. does not recognize s-video from a computer. This plug-in is specifically what it asks for. I do not plug the cable into the t.v. until my system is booted up, I plug in the adapter and change it to vga channel on y television. Go to my catalyst control center to detect my t.t. and nothing, what am I missing, please help.

boot with everything plugged in, you might/should see the post screens & windows loading on the tv

my only experience is on a 1024x768 pc crt, windows98 & win2k, geforce4mx & radeon9800pro, with svideo connectors on the card + svideo cable to an sd camcorder from a decade ago

nothing...to break it down more. I have a GZ7220 Gateway, whih everything is built within the monitor. I have a AverMedia AverTV hybrid Ultra Usb that plugs into my computer, which were the s-video and audio cable plug-ins are located. I have a 50 foot s-video cable and audio running to my tv. Which the tv says for computer plug-ins, I need a vga type plug-in. So I bought a VGA adapter and plugged the cables into the adapter. I have a Radeon Mobility HD 2600 video card, yes I know it is a laptop video card, it came with the computer, gateway...do not ask why. On the tv, I turn it to vga channel or even s-video, nothing, no signal. On the catalyst control for my video card, usually it shows two screens, one marked number 1 and another for my tv, it shows only 1, so it is not detecting the tv, it will not allow me to put it tv mode. So, what am I missing. I do appreciate everyones help, it should not be this hard.....

There is a force TV detection setting for S-video in the CCC, you also have to realise that only 2 inputs can be used at the same time so if your monitor is plugged into the wrong socket your PC cannot run the s-video port at the same time so try the other port.

I computer monitor, which is my whole system plugs into a power bar of sorts, which has usb ports, internet connection ports, which that bar is where myAvertv Media plugs into. My monitor system only has one plug in spot on that bar. I have tried to force detection many of times. Nothing yet. I might not be catching on what I should be doing? Please any further help would be greatly appreciated.
