Remember the Past

All this Game Cube, X-Box stuff has gotten me hyped up, but I still remember playing Super Mario 1, 2, and 3 on a NES. Just gives you an idea of how old you are getting, and I'm not even that old right now, still attending school.

Hell I can remember getting excited about playing games like Pac man or Galaga. I used to play Q-Bert for hours on end...you young people don't know what you missed...........okay, crappy graphics, horrible sound, repetive levels, and games that never ended ;)

Was there any games on atari that you could finish? All i remember is the same damn level but a bit different, faster pace and enemies but ALWAYS the same damn type of level. Its a little like that for NES, i remember games that were just impossible to finish, a never ending game..

When I was in third grade, a friend of mine got a video game for his TV.

You know, the kind with two knobs, and you could play PONG, soccer, tennis, hockey, etc, with a little square bouncing around the screen.

That would have been '77 or '78. Coolest thing I'd ever seen. Only his parents wouldn't quit playing the darned thing so the kids could play <grin>

We got a 2600 when I was about 12 (IIRC) and that baby r0x0rd.

NES, SNES are the only other consoles I've owned. Since then, the PC has been my platform.

I remember having to turn Space Hawk off on the Intellivision after a few hours and a score of over 3,000,000 I kept winning extra men and I think I would still be playing it now if I didn't turn it off. Who would've thought it would even keep score that high, after all it was only a 7k machine!

Percuvius...
