RTX 3080 questions

Hi All,

the availability and pricing for these cards is ridiculous right now, some quick questions:

  • How long do you estimate until these cards become readily available?
  • What do you believe is a reasonable price that these cards will level out at over say then next 6 months?
  • what brand name do you recommend?

Thanks,

Vanz

I think it's hard to predict when prices will come down, because we don't have any real information on how much of it is supply vs demand, and when/if more supply is going to come online.

Supply does not seem great, considering the EVGA queues keep stalling out entirely, suggesting cards are not even coming in.

Hopefully early next year things will look better. Until then, if you don't need to upgrade you probably shouldn't.

Prices never came down on Turing, I dont expect it to happen to Ampere any time soon if at all. Unless AMD starts stealing sales at a huge clip, which with their current prices I dont see that happening.

As I said, you are looking at scalpers. None of those are sold by Amazon, right?

I though Amazon had policies against price gougers, from what I recall they banned 1000's of companies during early covid for price scalping...

I'm trying to get an idea of when prices will stabilize for these cards where their cost will land, I dont think they will stay like this for long once they get the supply up...

You should just get a bot and nab one. No need to wait. Get an ASUS TUF OC and forget about everything else.

never tried a bot before, sounds like a good way to lose money, I'm assuming you mean something like this:

anybody actually do this?

if you mess up the script, you end up buying 100 cards, lol...

I'm not in a rush, I think I'll play cyberpunk and get a new system in about 3 months... once a lot of bugs are cleaned up...

Send a PM to Riptide or andino. Both were able to grab through a script. Or follow a discord or twitch channel.

Think you'll find they mean the price be what is advertised rather than the 100% increases we are seeing ATM.

All about supply and demand, While Nvidia can't produce enough cards people will cash in. Always someone ready to make a quick buck.
