RTX 3080 questions

I paid £1,550 for my 3090 KFA2 SG which is only 10% or so above FE MSRP and AIB's are always more expensive. Had it installed today and coming from an AMD 5700XT it's just OMG. It's 100% faster in everything at 1440p. The best thing is it plays nicely with my Freesync monitor in G-Sync compatibility mode.

Can't believe how quiet it is and in Superposition benchmark it only reached 70c. Amazing. Graphics score in Time Spy went from 8,933 to 18,587 :lol: Hugely impressed TBH everything and a bit more than I thought it would be.

I really can't understand people paying £1,500 from a scalper for a 3080 when they can pay the same and get a 3090. Strange times at the moment. In the UK 3090's are readily available no scalpers want them. Happy days.
 
I can only give you the Canadian outlook:
Availability March at best. The 3070 ti and 3080ti by then with even more inflated prices and hardly a speed boost. Just more VRAM.

All these cards NEVER ever hit MSRP. MSRP is the biggest joke and scam. It's always waaaaay higher. Don't ever look at MSRP.

Not sure how I scored a 3080. Okay I do I found a bug on the website.

I'm sure they'll be talking about the 4080 by the time these are actually sitting on store shelves, but make no mistake the 4080 will be 1+ years away.

Get an EVGA/ASUS
 
I paid 1050 for my 3080 FTW3, MSRP for Zotac 3090 and MSRP for ASUS TUF (though had to buy it with a ram bundle).

KAC the 3090 is awesome. With 24gb Vram it's going to last 3 to 4 years easily. A 3080 with 10gb ram maybe not. Eventually I might go 4k but happy at 1440p all maxed 144 fps. Nice.
 
At 1440p, the 3080 will last 3-4 years. At 4K, the 3090 won't last more than a year. Nothing has enough horsepower to last that long at the ultra-enthusiast resolutions
 
Come on the MSRP's from both Nvidia and AMD were a joke really. I think for most of 2021 the 3080 will be £$850 and the 6800 £$750 and 6800XT $£850. The 6900XT > £$1,100.

Currently all the EU have banned the UK so we now have over 3,000 trucks stuck near Dover, Felixstowe which is our main gateway from Asia is blocked with ships being turned away it's a disaster. I'm just happy I got my new 3090 and 3800X before this shi*storm hit. Supply to meet demand will take most of 2021.
