Samsung M8 32”

Of course that’s great.

To be fair, I took a chance based on “some” reviews and that price. It’s a good looking monitor, but I really hope the performance at least matches the CX 55.

Hopefully find out this weekend.

Yeah, when do we plug that baby in and give it a test run?

I was just getting ready to PM you. Dude, this thing is freaking gorgeous. I haven’t had time yet because still working on the man cave, but I played and browsed a little.

Maybe it’s settings, maybe it’s placebo effect, but it beats the CX 55 imo.

The HDR is killer, colors are nearly perfect….haven’t run it long enough to really test dimming and other features but so far…man > Happy old fart here.

Thank you Thank you Thank you for calling that out to me, especially when you did. The price is already climbing back up  :)

Edit: Pay the tangle no mind. Everyone knows you Never bundle cables until everything is tested lol.

Oh, I forgot to mention. The living situation changed - some family fell on hard times and are coming to stay with us, so space is at a premium. This is my only monitor for everything now. Which works out fine

 awesome sauce. I can't wait for OLED to get more and more popular for monitors. The tech is just awesome sauce.

It really is. On this monitor I can see where brightness "might" be an issue for some, but nothing I've seen yet suffers from it.

*Insert test here*

I just left for about 5 minutes, let it dim. It did take about 30 seconds after getting back to it for it to go fully bright again.

I'll check what picture modes it's using and see if that makes a difference, but I don't really want to change anything. What I'm seeing on screen is just stunning.

Love it :)

EDIT: Did it again and it went to full bright soon as I touched the keyboard, no wait

Looks great and fantastic price

I did a little retail therapy of my own today. Picked up a 55" LG C2, LG S75Q Sound bar, and PS5.

Very happy with the TV. Haven't tried the PC on it yet though, looking forward to some 4k HDR 120hz goodness.

Nice haul demo! PS5 + that LG OLED is a great combo. The CX55 looked fantastic so I can only imagine the C2, especially with a high end PC pushing it.

The only downside for me is that I don’t think I can ever go back to a more affordable VA or IPS screen if this thing breaks lol. “Eye candy” has taken on a whole new meaning

Damn LED on soundbar won't turn off. The letters ARC just staring at me. Can't find an option so have put black electrical tape over it.. :bleh:

Sounds great though

Now that you've had a few days with it, how are we feeling?

It looks sweet as ****. I'm definitely a tad bit on the jelly side.

It’s a keeper. Best screen I’ve owned yet, no contest.

The only dings I ‘might’ give it under certain circumstances:

1. They had to put ‘tactical’ in the name - screw wt dat 13 yo crap :bleh:
2. Dimming isn’t an issue with anything but games> takes longer
3. HDR peak brightness might be too low for some.

Pros

1. Price for me, because of that sale
2. Richest colors (not to be confused with over saturated) I’ve ever seen
3. Zero input lag
4. KVM switch!!! (Not tested yet, but working up to it)
5. Doesn’t seem as big as a 48”, but it is. Beautiful aesthetics.
6. The control ‘nipple’ bottom center for all settings - works like a charm.
7. HDR, even with a lower peak brightness, is just stunning. > I haven’t tried win 11 with it yet though> there’s always a way for win 11 to screw up HDR.

Not to mention the plethora of ports.

I hope this lasts a good long time for me. I just love it

Pro tip that I just discovered. While in a game, press windows key + G to bring up gamebar. Click on settings>gaming features. There is a button to adjust auto HDR intensity. By default it's at minimum. Crank it up :) makes a big difference

Note that if you're not in game it will be grayed out (even in game I had to open it twice to allow me to adjust).

That’s an excellent tip. I wonder if that’s why I’ve been having so much trouble with HDR on win11 - just looking in the wrong place for the settings. Thanks demo, I’ll check this out next time I’m in game

I think MS is going to put a console-like HDR setup process in the next windows update.

That should have been included in windows 10, it's unbelievable just how bad windows handles HDR.

You should be able to run windows itself in SDR with games and apps still being capable of turning on HDR when needed.

I haven’t even been gaming on windows just because because it’s such a pain getting HDR to work. I’m going to fire it up tonight and give demo’s tip a try.
