Scorn

Played 2 hrs. This game sucks. Do not recommend.

Combat is horrid. Puzzles are boring. Whole game is slow and tedious.

I mean the visuals are kinda cool but everything just looks the same. Struggling to think of any good features, maybe the strangeness or gore?

Beat me to it. The first puzzle moving a sliding puzzle was sooooo boring I uninstalled soon after as I thought if this is the start then there is no way I’m going to do any more. Maybe it’s due to the fact I’m soldiering on with Death Stranding (different yes but still a slow pacer).

Oh man, just downloaded it on my Series X via gamepass. Will give it a go but doesn't sound good :(

I was really looking forward to this too.

dang!

This is a perfect example where good graphics don't make a game. Which socks because I like HR Gigers work. I also enjoyed Darkseed 1 and 2 which is also based on gigers work.

This game just plain sucks all around.

 Gameplay always rules for me.

Welp it doesn't get better. Slow and boring, clunky combat, annoying, maze-like exploration, meh puzzles. Many corridors off main areas look the ****ing same and it's just unpleasant to navigate. At the end they make you walk super slow for a while with frequent repetitive 10 second animations, clearly big-brain devs.

The final 30 minutes do at least try to add some story to the world, but by then it was too late. Probably 5/10 if I'm being generous.

This is so damn sad to hear. They really pulled off some trailer magic to get everyone interested, myself included. I'll pick it up next year during a sale.

After the videos I watched and the guys mini reviews, I think I’ll just pass.

I was really hoping this was going to be a solid horror experience.

See, I'm still intrigued by this, been following it since day one and will install it later tonight.

Hopefully you enjoy it. I’ve seen a few reviews that really praise the game. With me it was expectations of a certain type of gameplay that isn’t there, so I can’t knock the game, it just isn’t what I was hoping for.

Decided to give this another go, just because of the visuals.

Once I was nudged in the right direction from IGN's guide, the puzzles kind of fell in place. It was actually satisfying to solve the first area. And, a bit surprisingly disappointing of how I went about it because apparently there was a more "humane" way to do it.

However, without that nudge, the game was just plain awful for throwing so much in a frustrating maze like fashion.

Proceeding on to the next areas.

I made it to Act 3 before I rage quit and uninstalled the game. :bleh:

Bottom line, avoid like the plague. Maze like layouts in every level, convoluted puzzles, and a VERY unforgiving checkpoint save system. This god awful save system combined with absolute shitty combat is why I rage quit. Luckily the game pass version, so I feel like I didn't lose money on this...especially since Plague Tale Requiem more than makes up for this on gamepass. If this had a more competent save system I'd have continue, but this is utter trash. Deliberat trash. Because if you die, the game deliberately puts you way far back. Compared to if you just quit to menu and your point is automatically saved for next time. However, this save is erased when you die and you are forced to basically start a section over. BS!

Yea.. reading that it would a hard pass then.

I wonder if people would go back and try it if they made decent auto-saves? They could do that or just make the combat easier. For me the combat wasn't that hard, and while the saves were annoying it wasn't the main reason I didn't enjoy it.
