Can you not disable the PM ability of people who first sign up until they have at least 10 posts or something ?

Getting 5 spam PMs is highly annoying.

I understand its annoying - fortunately its fairly uncommon. When it does happen, please forward spam PMs to a smod or admin so we can take care of it.

Is it other people don't report it or what, and again, why are these idiots allowed to send ANY PMs if they don't have any posts made in the forums?
PMs should only be enabled after 15 posts or so.

Vbulletin does allow you to make usergroups to stuff these bots in, to force them to make X number of posts before moving out of that group.

You'll have to use "Usergroups" to limit new users, put newbies into a group with very few permissions, until they have posted a few times or whatever.

Excellent report. That IP range netted me about 50 spam accounts on the books, all of which are now banned / deleted, and the IP range also banned. Thank you for the report. :up:

Most of the spambots that make it through the registration filters never get a post out in the wild. We do indeed set filters / usergroups that flag 99% of bot posts, so that only the staff actually sees the posts. There certainly are the rare bots that spam via PM, and we rely on users like you to report these when they occur, and we try to be responsive to it.
 
Same. Deleted. Didn't forward to mods either coz I'm an anti-establishment rebel. :bleh2:
