Unfortunately, $4K doesn't get you far these days.

It really doesn't. I know many photographers in that range, and some who are more than that.

I wonder what ratio is of the average wedding-gift-value to average wedding-cost.

Good question. I can say it seems to depend on the giver, and the background of the guest/typical income bracket. Few guests bring gifts anymore, as most prefer to mail it to the couple instead (I fully support this idea, the couple and their family already has a TON of stuff they are packing up at the end of the night and most barely have room for what they are taking back with them).

Oof True. Our family brought all the food, the minister came to park where we had seats and canopies etc, all outdoors and lots of fun. I’m not even sure what we spent that much on lol.
