I guess it wasn't selling well. Probably make a nice backup/business phone.

Essential is slashing the price of its eponymous phone, down to $499 at its website. That’s a $200 price cut from the original $699 price, less than two months after it began shipping to customers. There is really no other way to read the move except as a signal that it wasn’t selling well at $699 — especially given that the only US carrier stores it’s available in have “Sprint” above the door. It certainly doesn’t help that it now has to face the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL head-to-head.

Kind of hard to go up against Google and Samsung at $700 price points.

I just ordered one, with the $99 replacement plan. Price is really good, reviews seem solid, and my iPhone's battery seems to be slipping. I'll probably be back to Apple in 1-2 years, we'll see though. I can still sell my iPhone for a good amount, makes the change pretty inexpensive.

They just received a camera software update that fixes alot of issue the camera had.

This is probably the best Android phone on the market right now. At least in terms of value to performance.

Nice, that's great to hear. I'm looking forward to trying it out, but won't sell my iPhone till I know for sure I'm good with the new device.

This thing is NICE. The fingerprint sensor works very well, the phone feels super premium and very nice in the hands. It's heavier than I expected, but much smaller than my 6s+. It's as if you cut the top bezel off the 6s+ entirely, and extend the screen halfway down the home button. Really impressed by this thing in my short time with it. I also didn't have to call MetroPCS to set it up, so that's a nice thing. Wasn't so lucky when I transferred my iPhone to them...

It looks premium. I honestly think it's the best value in Android right now.

It's stock Android right?

Yeah and it works really nicely right out of the box. I'm thoroughly impressed. I also like that it will unlock the phone if I just touch the fingerprint sensor, I don't have to hit the power button at all, same as my iPhone.

Snapped a couple pictures with the wifes Xperia...

It's almost comical how big the 6s+ is, and the 7+ and 8+ as well.

Also iPhone has been off the network, only on WiFi, for 4-5 hours, and it's still sucking the battery down

I picked up my 6S Plus on Monday morning to get ready to reset it to stock. It has 10% battery life. It was at 100% the previous Friday when I took it off network. iOS 11 isn't nice to 6 & 7's.

It's down to $449 at Best Buy now. You're not going to find a better phone for that money.

I saw, I'm still waiting on my backup plan (read credit card) to arrive now that my score has bounced back from ****. While it breaks my $400 limit given what materials are used and some of the other features, it seems that 450 - 500 is VERY reasonable for this class of phone.
