This place is so dead

People don't like change (and at times posting has been really slow with the new software). Also some of us are on the discord but the problem with that is unless you're talking about specific games, conversations can be lost in a wall of text. It is what it is. I try to post every so often to keep some of the other forums alive but the PC gaming one seems to be going just fine.

It is really sad when even I am thinking about quitting these forums. I can speak to the 5 people that come here but there is really nothing interesting to talk about.

I dont think its a "change is bad" type deal, its just...the changes hasnt really made anything better, maybe a bit worse.. The reply window which used to open a new window/page...is now where the quick reply response is......getting to the last page of a thread requires you to push the tiny arrow buttons BEFORE you enter the thread (otherwise you'd have to manually enter the page number at the top...as the option to change pages isnt even at the bottom of the current page. Heck if any of this UI stuff was resolved already...i'd like to know cuz i dont know how to get back to the old familar ways of doing stuff. There might have been an exodus or even just lesser participation from some folks.

It’s mostly because the new mods sucked the life out of this forum. You can no longer have fun without someone throwing a fit. So people who wanted to have fun left.

Now it’s just me talking to myself about whether a game is trash or dope.

Not sure if that was sarcasm or real but on the contrary, people think I killed the forum...

I blame whoever started the Discord. traffic started dropping fast at that point. And with few people posting, not a lot of reason to read, etc. vicious circle.

I still skim through the website almost every day to see if there's anything interesting. Some days there is, and some days there's not. I tend to think of the website as a place to have longer, more durable discussions. Whereas the Discord is more for catching up on daily stuff.

The community is the discord. This just a place to post shit or ask questions. It had a good run, but rage3d is effectively dead

I stopped posting once folks moved to Discord. It’s good for a real-time chat board but not a good replacement for this site.

I just log in now and then to see what’s up. I prefer discord at this point. Just post not really serious stuff and go, no heavy lifting.

Discord is not Rage3D! Damn it.

Seriously though. I'll say it again...

F*** Discord. 20+ years of posting at this place and you people are gonna let it go to hell because of stupid Discord. What a waste.

 I never said discord was rage3d. And no one is “Letting it go to hell”
Traffic was getting slower even before the upgrade, and the number of people posting regularly are not enough to make a difference. People move on, get busy, have other interests. The discord is just another place to visit, but it’s not responsible for rage slowing down.
