Up and down, mostly up

Might even be getting back into the 30's before miners overrun us again. Got more stuff coming tomorrow so barring any install issues I should see another small boost in production.

Hope everyone is having a great summer!, stay cool

Awesome Jima! :fold:

I think we should hit the upper 30s before mining takes off again (or perhaps curecoin implodes and those miners rejoin their old folding teams lol).

My production will hit a tiny bump next weekend as I'm taking the 1070 rig to QuakeCon. I'm hoping maybe in fall to perform some upgrades and bring another folding rig online. Waiting to see how Vega2/GTX 11 pans out :D

Its taken me sooo much time.. waiting on some hardware to come in. Ordered an NVMe drive for my OS drive. Might pick up an el-cheapo RX460 from a guy on TPU to slide in one of the 2nd slots to set it to fold with even while I game. lol.

Ok, you'll see a small workload come in... gonna test this for temps for 5 or 6 hours and see if I need to make changes to it for stability etc..

Running on the RX Vega and 14 threads on the 1900X.

Just got a good deal on a used GTX 1080Ti for gaming/folding. I'm using it on 50% TDP (won't reach 65C even on a hot day) at approx 8-10hrs daily. Hope to keep folding until wifey figures out someone is eating our electricity :D

Awesome to see the production spike! Almost 11m points yesterday

For me I found my 2 980ti's were stuck "updating" so I had to reinstall FaH....it's in the garage and I rarely check it so was probably sitting like that for a couple weeks

had the same issue for about 3 times now, it is 'updating' without doing anything (not even downloading). lucky i check my FAH client every now and then, i just reboot my system if i get this and i'm good to go.

Checked the EOC stats just now and we are in the red for the first time since the stats colors got updated!! 10MPPD!!!

:fold:

Sorry. Back online now. Remember, doing benchmarks and such still. As well as trying to get this thing stable.

4.025Ghz @ 1.275V is where I am pretty much gonna settle it at.

My TR doesn't scale well past 4.0Ghz. 1.25V @ 4.0Ghz, I need 1.38V to get 4.2Ghz and 1.42V to hold 4.3Ghz stable. All on water but still this thing gets hot. I need to switch to a better TIM. Still using AS Ceramique 2. (its simple, easy and not conductive.. did I forget cheap.. lol)

Crazy idea

Crazy idea

After seeing what the 2080 ti was putting up I thought about replacing my 2 1070's with one (another million ppd)...until I saw the price...as much as my new 75" 4k tv and that's

Also noticed I hit the 2 billion point mark, so woohoo :yahoo:

i'm also contemplating on the RTX production numbers.
i saw the RTX 2080 doing 1.6M PPD on the GPU database https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1vcVoSVtamcoGj5sFfvKF_XlvuviWWveJIg_iZ8U2bf0/pub?output=html#
which is around 23% faster than a 1080 Ti (1.3M PPD on 2000MHz). however the price is the deal breaker. in Manila you could find a used 1080 Ti for around $490 while for $818 you get a new RTX 2080. 66% increase in price is not worth the 23% performance gap, not counting the electric bill though :D

for now i'll just get my rig on custom water loop while waiting for Vega 7nm :)

grats on the milestone! :fold:

i just passed by 7up1n3 and now going for caveman-jim. never thought i'd reach these guys when i started folding

Depending on the wu I get about 1 mil ppd on the 3 1080 ti's, and 1 mil on the 2 1070 and another 1 mil on the 2 980 ti's...avg about 5 mil ppd, and as you said the 2080 gap just isn't worth it. Although now I regret getting the Asus 1080 ti a few months ago as that 2080 would be about $400 less than I paid for the Asus :(

Congrats on moving up past Charlie & Jim, never understood why they stopped? Anyway, :fold:

aww yeah, good point. however, you were able to help the fold for those few months that you got the Asus 1080 Ti. :fold:
and you can always sell the 1080 Ti for a good price and grab a 2080 :)

it's weird that my QRB does not work. i checked https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus and found out my bonus points are deactivated due to expired WUs. Need to retain at least 80% completed WU for it to work.

i'm now working on a new key and get those QRB rolling.
