Upgrading ATI DVD player

When I install the ATi DVD player update it asks for an "ID number found on the CD". I presume it means the original ATi install CD, but it does not seem to like any of the numbers printed on mine("105" and "G01070-105"). Where do I find the number that it is reffering to?

Nevermind, I looked on ATi's site and found out that I had to use the second number with the prefix 180- added to the front of it. Now if I could only get the software to actually work it would be nice(it just sits there with a black screen right now).

I found out the problem was that it didn't like the DVD I was trying to test it with. Most other DVDs seem to work fine though.

I'm just using PowerDVD for now, since it works with all my disks, sports a better picture quality and has way more audio options.

DVD up-date CD

Hi
I initially had the same problem as you in that the up-date would not recognise my CD....

Here's the answer.
The number you should put in is indeed the one on the CD Mine is
180-g01070-104
You MUST put it in exactly as it appears on the CD that is with the dashes
and make sure the 0 is 0 and not o
When the program asks for the cd...insert it and wait for the system to read it and all should be well....BUT I have found it to be VERY temperimental if it does not like the CD or you click ok before its had time to read it DO NOT re-try as it NEVER works.
Go to the beginning of the up date program and re install it again and try again
Hope this helps you
Pete
