Using two m.2 NVME drives?

Och

ATI Champion
I can't seem to find this in the motherboard manual, but if I install NVME drives in both m.2 slots, are they going to share bandwidth? As when you have SLI video cards, they start working in PCI-Ex8 mode instead of PCE-Ex16 for a single card.

It's a regular Z370 motherboard.

Depends on the board? I know my board has the m.2 slots share lanes with different sata ports which get disabled when m.2 is used. So if you use multiple m.2 slots, you have no sata ports but your m.2 slots at least have their own lanes.

Edit: yea so the CPU can supply 16x pcie lanes, and the 370 chipset should supply an additional 24 lanes I believe. The graphics card uses the cpu pcie lanes, and storage devices feed off the available 370 chipset lanes.

I was going through my manual on my new board today, and it has a table that specifically lists the lanes dedicated to each m.2 and which SATA lanes take priority. It specifically says to use certain slots and shows how it adjusts the bandwidth for however many m.2 you want to use.

Take a look at your manual and see what it recommends.
