Vega latest road map and press release!

BTW, Vega 10 IS NOT a TOP END. But Vega 11 is. The number doesn't have to do with its performance, but has to do with release time which Raja mentioned this before. So Polaris 10 will be replaced with Vega 10 in next year. That is exactly what I'm waiting for. I probably can't afford a Vega 11 for sure. And one more thing is that Vega is supposed to the next new GFX9 IP while Polaris is only GFX8 IP, so you can expect it's brand new GCN architecture and do not expect that 4096 shaders is the same as Fury X's.

You mean to tell me that AMD is releasing another card (VEGA 10) that is NOT their high-end? Come on now .. is this a ****ing joke? I thought they were releasing the high-end in Q1 2017.

smoke and mirrors

AMD has less real leaks than the CIA :bleh:

.......

I think a lot of people are messing up the Vega numbers in these so called click bait leaks

Hmm didn't the guru3d Article say 24 tflops of sp compute performance? Is that not high end? What's the 1080 and titanx do?

Oh **** it's videocardz.com .. I didn't even check the links, just read Treeck's post.

Linking wccftech or videocardz.com should warrant an instant ban :bleh:

The Vega is indeed a high-end, but I'm referred the 11 version is a top-end, not a high-end.

I want to upgrade my 980ti's but I'm tired of these announcements of empty promises. First half of 2017 means we are almost a year away why would they say what they would do so publicly in a world so competitive? It's like saying to nvidia "Hey I would kill you tomorrow at 9 pm" of course nvidia will be prepared to minimize damage. They should've released the damn cards already and surprise the world.

Nvidia already knows AMD is going to come out with new cards some time next year. So, I don't know why making an announcement would drastically impact their plans?

How? With magic? These things take time. Yup, sure isn't ideal, but AMD can only do what is available to them. HBM2 isn't even in mass production iirc.

So all I got from this was that Vega 10 releasing Q12017 will use more power and produce more heat and perform in between the 1070 and 1080. And no one sees this as a fail?

All Nvidia has to do is release the 1080ti or Volta and spoil the show.

sounds like nonsense to me.

leaks about amd are rarely correct this far out.

They run a very tight ship.

I read it different. In the guru article they stated that vega10 will compete with the 1080/70 not perform between the two cards. Full vega10 will compete with 1080, cutdown with 1070.

"So as suggested, where Vega10 would get 4096 stream processors and could compete with the GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 Vega11 on its end would feature 6144 stream processors (=rumor) and would be lined against the GP100/GP102 aka Big Pascal GPU"

Was there another article that said it would perform in between a 1080 and 1070 hap?

Why see anything as a fail? There is nothing to see! This is little more than a rumor from the giant rumor mill that is Videocardz.

Also, even if ALL of it was true, priced accordingly it could still be a big win for consumers.

Well if we look at the so called "specs" and claims then we are looking at a card that will perform 25% faster then the Fury-X a pretty much the same power envelope. That would put it in between the 1070 and 1080 but at more power and more heat.. Now depending on the movement in clock speeds ( which from the past might not be very much ) it may reach 1080 speeds. Then around the end of 2017 we get big Vega which will probably perform in between the 1080 and TitanX. But by then Nvidia will have released the 1080Ti possibly and or Volta.

This is what happens when your a generation behind.

Is there any chance u can provide the Article that supports your claim like I asked hap? Did u read the guru3d article even?

If clock for clock AMD matched Nvidia speeds they would blow past Nvidia in a heartbeat. And I'm not talking about heat/power as that is another discussion. Some of us like competition while others ride a colored epeen horse.

Well...yeah....kinda, but I don't think that having a high clocked wouldn't help them is because both AMD and Nvidia architecture are very different. On Nvidia architecture allowed it to able to clocked much higher than GCN does. The GCN just needs a good architecture, so it don't have to be clocked higher. But if you are talking about clock for clock...like Intel 3Ghz is faster than AMD 3Ghz. Then yes, it is very possible. Better if it's low clocked AND faster than nvidia. Who knows?
